Offshore Oil Rig Fishing for Bull Redfish

We went fishing 8 miles offshore out of Sabine Pass to fish some abandoned rigs. Man, we hit the JACKPOT ALL DAY!! We got to the first offshore rig to fish but we got kicked out, We then decided to go fishing at an abandoned rig. Within 10 minutes we were hooked on to some monster fish! Fishing these offshore rigs was amazing!

Offshore Rigs is where I used to fish as well..... just over 12 miles out of Sabine Pass we'd go fish a cluster of Rigs & there was always stuff to catch. Many times as the bait free falls you can get them but if all you have is shrimp you better HooK Em' quick or your bait will be gone as it descends. They're great b/c they are the only cover for miles. be safe... peace

@@BeachBomberFishing ~ anything is possible out on the rigs & I do mean anything but you know how it can be out on the water. I went out on a 17ft boat & the captain got smashed drunk-- got 2 sets of treble hooks stuck in his shin when a shark was thrashing around & then he went to sleep(passed out). So the seas went up to 6-8ft & I was outside of 12 miles w/o knowing where to go = lost in the Gulf in rough seas for the size boat & w/ a drunk arse'd captain!! I got in 3 hrs later & I was lucky to see lights from 6-7 miles out & at the end I was fortunate b/c the jetties I went into are long rows of rocks like you fish all the time... but I got lucky & found the little cut that let me into the Pass w/o having to all the way out & come into the Pass again. Truly a lucky day fishing.... Yep, we caught some snapper but I haven't gone back after that rough day - kinda a scary day/night? Last year.... peace man

Need an offshore trip video! Headed out tuna and snapper this summer. You should try slow pitch jigging totally different experience letting the reel fight the fish and controlling the action of the lure.
