You should make a video on how the new UAE tax policy will affect Dubai long term. I like your more philosophical videos. Bol !

Another recent change Michael: Jersey increased the cost of their lump sum tax deal to £250k/yr, and the minimum property purchase to £3.5m. That makes the Italy & Greece lump sum tax deals look like a bargain!

But Income over £650,000 a year is only taxed at 1% plus there is zero Capital Gains tax, No imheritance Tax or death duties and only 6% sales tax. Corp tax is zero

Portugal has a 28% exit tax on crypto. This applies also applies to holdings more than 365 days old. This is equivalent to suffering from a 28% wealth tax when you leave the counrty!

So glad we jumped and decided to move when we did - following your recommendations! At least we've got 8 years in Portugal under NHR.

With all the changes going on, it's making one become a bit more openminded shall we say. So, if you were set on a place or were considering a few, consider a few more... Quickly before those options close too. Thanks, Michael. Always nice to hear your thoughts.

As others have said, I’d also be interested in hearing more on Dubai and whether you think there’s more to come? Recently been thinking of buying something there as part of a longer term plan

@@OffshoreCitizen My thoughts are that money/power is kinda consolidating and so all low-tax countries have to raise taxes to be buddy with everyone. The latest changes in Romania didnt just make it worse for micro companies but they also made a lot of restrictions on cash. Basically a lot of changes restricting the individual. Makes me curious which countries that will follow suit like Romania and which countries in EU that wont budge.

It also happens in Costa Rica, Cambodge... I wonder if its not linked to CRS (Common Reporting Standard) which makes very difficult to hide financial assets it seems. Whats the impact of CRS in your opinion ?

Hey, thanx for the video...great content as usual! Quick question...contemplating this move near term... question involving becoming a tax resident of Thailand vai physically retiring and moving to Thailand. If I moved my Canadian stock portfolio overseas, say Singapore, to an investment bank, say DBS Vickers, access to NA markets, where a wealth manager took over the management of that account from myself. If the mind of the business remained in Singapore (through an individual trading account only), while Im residing in Thailand full time...then according to Thailand tax laws, those capitals gains would remain tax free if not remitted into Thailand...is that correct? So two points, the mind of the business must be in Singapore and the capital gains must remain offshore? thanx very much!!!
@kaymanadventures172211 ай бұрын
Any offshore income that remains offshore will be untaxed in the Thailand tax rules 2024. Doesn’t need all this management structure in Singapore etc. Thailand is a remittance tax system to offshore income whether your are managing it yourself while in Thailand or not.

Would this also be true for a Canadian retiring to the Philippines?
@Gorilladome466411 ай бұрын
I did not realize that, thank you for that. In comparison, say Greece...they tax you on your world wide income %7...then mind of the business would come into play, re income made within Greece @ progressive rate vs flat %7 world wide, offshore income etc...thanx again. @@kaymanadventures1722

remittance vs regional based? regional would constitute taxing world wide income I believe like my Greece example...@@stevenc.6502

@guusgeluk369311 ай бұрын
First if you moved to certain areas like sicily you would get a 90% tax cut and in north italy a 30%-40% tax cut. Now it's like a 40% tax cut troughout the whole country

@lorenk.77511 ай бұрын
😆😆 If you're willing to pay $250,000 to avoid taxes, you may as well pay the taxes! Most or all Caribbean passports by investment could be rendered useless in the near future in regards to traveling visa-free to E.U. countries and Australia and New Zealand.

Hello, thanks for your videos. I currently make money on Facebook and I am from Sweden 🇸🇪, I have a tax treaty with the USA, does it mean Facebook already pay my taxes to the IRS or do I have to pay taxes here in Sweden again? Please help me clarify this, thanks 🙏🏾
