Thank you, no trip thru the Uriah Heep rabbit hole is complete without hearing this one. It has been my experience that Heep is a band that is most popular with musicians because of their attention to structuring the music, I often thought that Salisbury should be uses in the teaching of musical theory to show how to build a piece of music.

Their 1st and only foray into full scale composition, complete with backing from a woodwind orchestra. Phenomenal for young guys in their very early 20's.

The Composer and keyboardist, Ken Hensley, just passed away. And the Drummer Lee Kerslake. Now, 4 out of the 5 original members are gone. Only the Guitarist, Mic Box is left. And he is a very pleasant gentleman. There is no other song in the entirety of Rock Music like this. I saw them in 1982 Kansas City.

I'm glad you reacted to this! I've been a Uriah Heep fan since my sister bought the Magician's Birthday album for me and after listening to it and Demons and Wizards! WOW! The vocals, harmony, organ, drums and guitars in this band are the best in rock, to me.

glad you finally heard this masterpiece. Grew up with heep. Check out "Blind eye" and "Why did you go"-Its beautiful. Critics hated heep-idiots!

Great reaction to this tune, I'm so surprised that somebody reacted to this song, one of my favorite Heep songs. I'm not a fan of the remastered versions though, all they do is increase the volume of the quiet sounds, it sounded way different than what I have on vinyl and cd. But it's great to see people hearing this music which would be otherwise lost in the past.

Some of the quiet parts needed to be brought up a bit. They were just too quiet. Brought up to hearing level they still pace and contrast well with the loud parts. A magnificent work.
