l was in the Army in Germany in the early 70s and this was one of my favoitie bands. I was fortunate enough to catch them in concert in Frankfurt.

Thanks for your interesting reaction! In 1970 I was nine years old, when I discovered - thanks to my elder sister and cousins - my personal "fab' 4": Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. While I love them all my absolute favourite was, is and will always be Uriah Heep! With the albums Look At Yourself, Demons And Wizards & The Magician's Birthday you can't go wrong :)

You deserve a standing ovation for reacting to this song/band. Yes they are that good and many people don't know it. Kudos to you bc we listeners don't get the pleasure of hearing great music out of the mainstream

The early 70s had an insane amount of experimental rock music. There are so many incredible bands from back then, a lot of them are less well known than Heep. For some reason most of them are British. I’m still discovering incredible music from back then, and I’ve been looking a long time.

First heard this as a live cover with two guitars and no keyboard. It was a good local band performing in the PX club of a UK USAF base. Would have been 76 or 77. Loved it ever since.

I am 66 y/o and grew up listening Uriah Heep. You brought back all the emotion of my first hearing of July Morning. Thank you! I don't know what you have heard yet since this is the first time that I have visited your reaction to any music. Hopefully I will be able to show you some other music, some that has long been forgotten, but like the Phoenix, they need to rise again from the ashes and be reborn into a new generation! Thank you again for sharing your experience with all of us!

69 years old and first saw them in early 1972 (Winnipeg). Saw them again in 2015 (Vegas) and 2018 (Calgary). Still very amazing even if Mick Box is the only original member. Phil Lanzon and Berni Shaw have been with them since 1986.

Wow! Not many people react to this song which I think is one of the best songs. I remember as a Teenager going to see them in concert at The Music Hall in Houston, Texas on their first U.S. tour, Maybe around 1971 or early 1972. They are openned up for Steppinn Wolf (Born To Be Wild). All the Original Members. Little did I know they would become a classic years later. Yes! They did play this song!!

What a beautiful voice! I LOVE organ music! My mom was the organist in our church. It's always touched my heart and it's why I love the rock groups that had organs and pianos!

If you wanna hear some more Heep, I'd recommend Bird of prey, Time to live, The park, Circle of hands, Rainbow Demon, Paradise/The Spell... the list is endless.

Thank you for this video. And thank you for waiting until the end of the song before commenting. Many, many reaction videos are ruined by persistent interruptions. In the early 1970s in the UK there was a sort of Holy Trinity of rock bands comprised of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. But,to some people the three should have been four. Uriah Heep being the fourth member. I saw them live in December 1975 (at Preston GuildHall). They were great. This particular song is probably regarded by most of their fans as their Zeppelinesque 'Stairway to Heaven' moment. Personally I prefer 'Magicians Birthday'. But I realise that I am probably in a minority on that one! Personally, I think they never got the recognition they deserved. They have produced so much excellent must. But I think they suffered from being current at the time that they were current (if you see what I mean😊) because there were so many excellent bands around at that time. And all of those bands had superb musicians. For a start, every rock band worth it's salt had a superb lead guitarist. And I mean superb, not just some throw away descriptive word. Uriah Heep had Mick Box. Led Zeppelin had Jimmy Page, Deep Purple had Ritchie Blackmore, Black Sabbath had Tony Iommi, The Who had Pete Townsend, Queen had Brian May, Pink Floyd had David Gilmour, UFO had Michael Schenker, Cream had Eric Clapton (as did Derek and the Dominoes), The Yardbirds had Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck (not all at the same time, but still pretty impressive for one band), The Rolling Stones had Keith Richard, etc etc.

Enjoy your sensitivity to music. Uriah Heep gives me a dark gospel type of feel, and the vocals. Wow. Live ‘73 is the Heep album for me.

If we passed on the street we would not know to look at one another that we appreciate this great music!! Much respect young lady. They have much more to offer. P.S. Full disclosure the first time i heard this (1971) there may have been black tar hash laced with opium involved!!🥴🤪💓

If you like heavy duty Heep, Shadows of Grief, Love Machine and the title song, Look At Yourself. All hard driving rock and roll.

Look at Yourself Faith, Look at Yourself. Same album that rivals July Morning as one of their best. Fun fact: To this day July Morning is part of Hungary's national celebration by many on their first summer holiday in July. Heep rules over there!

Go directly to the Live 73 album. The live version on there of July Morning is sublime. David Byrons live vocal was equally as good as his studio work.
