Saw O'Shea play here in Australia in 1990 in an International Rules Series and he was a seriously good player. Very good football brain, tough and could have played AFL.

I remember the kerry team of the late 70s early 80s, I was only a young lad, great footballers. Jacko was a great player and I remember him with the Jersey torn to shreds against the Aussies in the international rules football. I grew up in Tipperary but my father always loved the footballer, played football with Templemore, in the Army, played a few games for Lilly whites. My grandmother was a staunch kerry woman living in Tipp. Her people was from Castlecove, she was related to Mick O Connell from Valentia Island. I'll be going for Kerry myself today.

Jacko was splitting the posts when he was in sixth class in the primary and no better man To defend when need be. Solid in every aspect of the game a direct footballer he had it as a kid. Shared the seat with him in secondary school. He became an absolute genius of a footballer. My Mom’s Aunt Mary was Mick O’Connells Mom
