Thank you for your video. I've been making necklaces and such for about a year now. I remember my mom making these in the 70's. In fact, I still have her necklaces and wear them, so they have definitely stood the test of time. My questions are..1. how do you decide what color string to use without stringing a bunch of samples? 2. what is your take on using hot glue for the end caps? 3. I use a lot of pendants for my necklaces and on a couple of them my string has broken when bringing the pieces together. Any suggestions? I'll try to send a picture.

I have been having trouble with another technique, so I was very happy to see your video. This just looks much better and makes more sense to me. Thank you so much! The other technique called for going through both of the top loops of each stitch instead of your method. The other method seemed to show way too much of the actual thread work, yukky. C-lon/S-lon cord isn't waxed, it's just slippery because it's nylon :) The best size for crocheting with 8s is the 0.4mm "fine" tex 135! It will certainly be stiffer than cotton, but this also helps even roll-on bangles stretch less.

Also, I'm using a size 10 steel crochet hook. 8 seed beads in circumference. I do have everything already strung and I get can a chain of 8 beads done. but when I make it into a circle and try to start slip stitching the beads for the second row, I guess its so small I lose my place. :0( and then i end up with what looks like a total mess and I undo it cause I know I have done something wrong. I've started five times already! Not having much success! :( So I strung colored beads 5 yellow, 5 red, 5 green - just so I could see which bead to put the hook into - they seem to not line up. So - when I did a row of yellow, and then red - that wasn't an issue. But when I did the row of green and flipped the bead to the right, pull down the next green bead and go on, the row of green beads fell below the red beads. :( I saw this when I used the colored beads. Has this happened to anyone else? A book I have said to put the hook through the "top" thread. Is the top thread the one with the bead on it? Agh! I wanna do this!!! I have to do this!!! I'm gonna do this!!!! Any tips appreciated for a beginner! Thanks. Kelly - do you do private lessons???
