Hi, cool video, I just came across your channel end enjoyed it thoroughly. I’ll be coming to the San Isidro del General, Dominical area to stay 1-3 months. I won’t have a car so where should I stay where I can walk to or take the bus to eat daily, go to grocery stores, ferias etc etc? Thanks in advance.

A great place to stay and easily get around San Isidro would be at the Amjeco Hotel. They have a small cabin type room that they rent out very affordable. www.booking.com/hotel/cr/amjeco.html The above link is their booking site, but if I were you, I would contact directly and ask for the long term rental with the little kitchen. I'm sure you'll get a better deal. Tell them I sent you.

If the veggies looks to perfect its usually loaded with pesticides or GMO, organically grown products typically will have some blemishes like signs of insect bite for example, that is at least how I determine.
@UNBRIDLEDLivinginCostaRica4 ай бұрын
I agree....that is an easy way to determine if it is a natural veggie or not.

This is my first time watching you live. I would like to know what was the biggest reason you moved there.
@UNBRIDLEDLivinginCostaRica4 ай бұрын
We didn't have a reason and we didn't do any research. One day a lady was telling Rebecca about how she dreamed about moving to Costa Rica. That planted a seed and in about 2 days...Rebecca said...why don't we move to CR. I replied, WHY? She came back with WHY NOT and within 30 days we got rid of all our stuff and were on a plane with 10 suitcases, one dog and didn't know a single word in Spanish.

Thank you for your videos and sharing your knowledge. You mentioned keeping your us bank and I was wondering if there are specific us banks you would recommend? I've been researching international travel friendly banks and bank talk is very confusing.

Yes, I understand. If I were you, try your best to get a Navy Federal Credit Union account and/or a WISE Account. Navy Fed is so easy and friendly. Wise is easy...use this link if you go with Wise. So cool to see how things are getting ready and done with your house and stuff. What a difference it makes with glass windows. And what a beautiful Rothschildia silk moth that came by as a nightly visitor. Bred these a couple of times in the zoo... Living costs in Costa Rica always depend on your own needs. And it's so important to NOT buy imported goods that much. Look for homegrown stuff and for tico products... Here in Germany, heating etc and electricity is so expensive, that huge companies, famous for producing over here for decades, now quit staying here and moving to e.g. Poland, China...you name it. My country is literally killed. So sad...
@UNBRIDLEDLivinginCostaRica4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comments and YES so sad to hear how bad thing are in your country. Things are coming along nicely. Hit me up when you are ready to do a video interview together. It was NICE to see that beautiful Moth!

We started off buying a fixer uppper at 4200 feet in a cloud forest .... are US friends asked whats next? We're buying a woodstove !! Knock the chill off and dry the house
@UNBRIDLEDLivinginCostaRica4 ай бұрын
YES...it's kinda funny when you live in the higher elevations and you are thinking about a wood stove to knock off the chill...but it is nice, and even romantic if you build one with a glass so you can enjoy the fire.

You are mentioning Tico Times. It seems they suddenly stopped writing about gang violence in Costa Rica sometimes this year. Any reason for that?
@UNBRIDLEDLivinginCostaRica4 ай бұрын
I have no clue? I don't follow the Tico Times that close...but, it's an OK place to get some info about CR.

One consideration you don't discuss is the number of Costa Ricans who take out micro loans on the regular (Gollo, Monge, ferretería, etc) for small things and don't consider thise oayments oart if cost if living. My Costa Rican friends accustomed to doing this call it "renting money"
@UNBRIDLEDLivinginCostaRica4 ай бұрын
Thanks for brining that up...YES, that would be a good topic to discuss. It is a horrible waste of money and cost them lots of interest, but many times, it is the ONLY way they can afford a new thing.

I'm asking this for my son, he's unhappy with how things are going in the west and feels like he has less right as a man. Many couples now prefer to have girls because they have more rights. So would you say that CR is like in the US? Where a false accusation can ruin a man's life? I have a friend in Brazil, and I didn't expect it because it's not developed and it's already like that there 100%.
