I lived in Costa Rica for 9 years. My wife is from there. All those little problems can really piss you off in the moment, but you quickly get over it because it’s such a cool country with cool people. I can’t wait to move back. It is home to me🇨🇷💙.

@@robincepeda7501 it’s a great place. I moved back to NY because my family was there haha. My grandmother was dying, passed now. I met my nephew. And i have bad phobias will airplanes so it’s hard for me to visit back and forth. And they didn’t visit because of covid and just life in general… but my wife and I will move back. If you have kids, make sure you have income so they can go to private schools. There are some great private schools in Costa Rica.

If you come here please make sure you are supporting our community and not imposing your North American culture. Pay your taxes and respect our traditions. North American and European immigrants have GREATLY destroyed our economy and affected those with less resources. Gentrification has GREATLY affected our society in a negative way. Most immigrants take advantage of our free health care system leaving actual Costa Ricans without proper support. Not to mention all those North American companies dedicated to take the lands of low income families and resell them to Europeans and north americas just to keep reselling them without stepping foot in our beautiful country. The pura vida lifestyle is here for everyone and you are all welcome to VISIT. But please DO NOT move here unless you will at LEAST pay your taxes. Don’t abuse and colonize other cultures, instead adapt and learn about others and respect their language and traditions. We are so sick of North Americans who come and EXPECT to find “America 2.0” no dude… just because we are a tourism-driven economy does not mean you are entitled to make it your own. Sorry if there are any typos in my message, English is my third language and I’m to lazy to back and spellcheck 😹

I enjoyed watching your video, and totally understand your passion/journey. I visited CR 2 months ago, Nicoya peninsula; it was my first time. I loved it. I am planning to visit next year to compare with the southern pacific areas like Uvita, Dominical, Ojochal. Are you currently living in the area? if so, would you mind sharing the differences, pros and cons. Thanks

Once you downsize, financially, it’s hard to upsize back into the US. Just be sure to have the funds set aside to have yourself shipped back for burial if that is what you want.

Agreed with you 100% , the Pura Vida is not a 100% real statement, remember this is a 3rd World country where is so many things that are not easy to deal with, like internet, housing, health insurance etc. I know people will say otherwise because they got no choice.

Was thinking that myself; however, the wild card is living in the tropics. If you've lived in 100% humidity, it feels like you're underwater. In the same breath (see what I did there?) he should maybe check if he's been aspirating a bit too much ocean water while surfing... maybe his VO2 MAX might be off... wonder if he took the "Bill Gates Software Upgrade."
