Kinda doubt that was planned. You don’t just go putting backing in when you don’t know what’s going there. I’m guessing it was a shear wall and needed osb board for structural reasons. Looks like that wall is just below the upstairs exterior wall. So that’s my guess

Speaking from experience the next step will be moving the products that you go through the fastest all to the same aisle closest to the shipper. That way the picker can go through all of the low volume items farther away while the cart is light and pick up the high volume stuff all on that one aisle. Then you only have to wheel it a bit further to shipping...

Next big step is just in time. Printing to order, so there's no big inventory of complete goods. Of course the big sellers you can print in numbers, but the low volume stuff, just print it as needed. Reduces your inventory costs. Invest in a printer that doesn't run screens, reduce your setup time to near zero

With asphalt millings. Soak it, and use a vibratory plate compactor to really get it set, and you will just about have a perfect base. Our property went from "impassable in the wet" to highway quality in the worst of storms after we started compacting. Especially in areas you are storing bins and tractors. Absolute game changer.

So this was really cool, I just started my network management class this week and the chapter was about this video. What Matt has done is called systems integration. When you go through this process the integration and automation of tasks reduces costs and increases production. The further and aggressive the tactic the higher the possibilities for the organization. This is how companies like Walmart are so big, they are essentially integrated from conception of product to you bag walking out, these processes allow them to work in the most effective manner all around. Congratulations matt on making the business even better. Always great to see people grow 😁

Safety concern: I would be cautious of leaving the air compressor on and connected to power at all times. (If that's what you plan on doing) The issue is that you could develop a leak and the compressor would run non stop and get hot. It could cause a fire.
@jreyman
@jreyman Жыл бұрын
Noise depends on the type and size of the air compressor. Diaphragms are the loudest and least efficient, pistons are slightly quieter and more efficient, but turbines are whisper quiet, bild and maintain pressure fast, capable of a continuous duty cycle, and don't have to be isolated away from the work zone, or need hearing protection.

I have worked with multiple shipping companies supervising, that used different software. I love seeing the channel grow and seeing new adventures. I will say some software leaves product missing in the system, “left on the line” was the term we had. Someone meaning to do right moves it, it’s extremely hard to track down product. Boost your network more than it should be, a slight drop can cause a lot of issues. I am sure you guys have thought about that being KZbinrs, I wish the best for y’all. Love you guys hope I can make it out to the next races

maybe fireblocking or a backer board? next time plumb in hard air lines with taps around the garage and install a large compressor in a closet out of sight-hang shorter hoses at the air tap locations so you have air everywhere you need it like electrical outlets.
@cmcintosh5004
@cmcintosh5004 Жыл бұрын
Don't be surprised if the hose reel loosens the side of the cabinet with all the pulling of the hose. They are held together with glue and wood pins or even metal cams. It's particle board with laminate coating, so the side is not meant for structural support and vibration. It'll work for a while, but you need something more structurally robust. The cabinets handle downward weight because you're not jerking a hose, causing vibration. Great idea with compressor in the other room for noise reduction as well as neatness.
@thebaconbrotato

Next time take a self-drilling paddle bit on an impact driver to punch holes like that through wood. Super easy, if you need to go deeper just use an impact rated extension. Toothpaste works great for filling holes, quick, easy, smells deliciously better than spackle. I've drilled through 18" thick wood with Irwin self-starting paddle bits, they're insane, so much easier than using a hole hawg since it's 1 handed effortless drilling.

Very similar to the system we use at SanMar, except our pickers work one aisle at a time and are in machines picking from racking that is 30' high. The machine follows the instructions from the software and takes you directly to the bin, all you need to do is count how many it says and put them in the right order bin (similar to the rack that you push around but made for the forks of the machine). So that is how some of the product supplied to you is picked.
