Not entirely true. The guy is actually half "youmu" (Kind of a demon) and said Youmu is a terribly strong one he can't really control, the girl is a "spirit warrior" also the last of their lineage, and only their "cursed blood" can actually kill that Youmu, so at this point she's activelly trying to kill him for real even if she doesn't like the idea. Really recommended this anime, it's short, has 2 movies and it's a finished story plus it's really good.

Akihito wanna live but at the same time he has shown previously that he fears he can hurt other people when he loses control (as he did to Hiromi for example) so he avoids conflict. Meanwhile Mirai is full of regrets for having to kill her best (and only) friend Yui when she became possessed, and in a way Akihito has the same problem, he's a very nice guy but his Youmu part can posses him without him being able to do anything, so Mirai has that inner conflict, repeat the story, getting forced to kill a nice person to avoid a bigger danger.

Ikr! As soon as i saw this clip i went to watch the anime. These are some really uniqe sequences. The direction and the flow of them are amazing. It gets you invested and exited while looking so damn beautiful at the same time. It is very different from the animation direction we see in many other anime.

Saw this series out of curiosity and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a nice little series that should have gotten a second season. Sadly there are so many gems like this that only have one season. But it was still a nice watch. The episode where they had to put on a dance number is my favorite 😍
