To be honest, if you're going to ask me, if you compare all the groups and idols out there, no one is close to XG. From vocals, bars, delivery, dancing, and MVs, ain't nothing like them. That's what got me into XG in the first place, the quality of everything they put out is on another level. And yeah, they can do all of those things live too, seen them on tour, it's insane!

I am a Japanese mother born in 1972. I am still a big fan of GURU's JAZZMATTER and JCOLE, so XG was shocking to me. It reminded me of the R&B ballads I listened to in my teens and twenties. It reminded me of Janet Jackson's Come Back to Me. I think it has a TLC-like atmosphere. I went to a concert for the first time in a while. Of course, it was an XG concert. The live singing and dancing were amazing.

Maya is the bridge between the rap line and vocal line. Since she's the most fluent in English is helps her to bridge the lines. HInata is the bridge that holds down the 2 power houses Chisa and Juria. But they all are rounders, that's why they can play around with arrangements and have Juria and HInata or Jurin and Harvey sing the same line, check out In the Rain. In Losing you Chisa, Hinata, and Juria, does a lot of switch ups which give the song a more engaging sound since you don't get bored with the same vocalist doing the same line.

People who reacted to XG for the first time ask me if there are other groups like them. However, there are no other groups like them. There are, of course, groups that are good at singing, rapping, and dancing, but there are no other groups like XG that produce a wide range of content, such as playing a wide range of music genres in English, covering and arranging American hip-hop and R&B from the 1980s and 1990s, etc. XG is the pioneer. And rather than showing the beauty of women, the video is made like a work of art. This is the group Simon (CEO) wanted to create. Maybe there will be groups like XG in the future, but these girls who have undergone rigorous and long training together are fearlessly paving new paths.

Not all of them will deep dive and watch their docu series and understand why they are what they are. Those who watch are Alpahz and they understand why nothing is like them. They werent built to make money, to mimic other groups or style like other groups or move concept to concept or to just gets views, etc. etc. XG was built in mind to make good music. Music to share with everyone. Naturally blossom to achieve their goals as an artist. It needs to start with good music and talented individuals who are naturally born growing up listening to 90s/00s R&B / HipHop to be considered a R&B/HipHop. Its not just a concept theyre pulling off, its in their blood. So thats why I dove deep into XG when i first listened to Shooting Star& Left Right. As a 50 something that worked and produced at MTV back in the day, I found myself asking my wife, "How the hell are they this good? Am I crazy?" But over time I realized it wasn't their talent that threw me off it was the packaging. So if A black man can be one of the greatest golfers, or a white girl can become one of the greatest WNBA ballers, we can have an Asian group serving us top tier hip hop r&b. Remember, they spent 5 years of training, from 2017 to March 2022 (debut). Not only did they become perfect dancers, they learned Korean and how to sing in English. They practiced the way their mouths had to move so that their anunciation was on point. These ladies are far superior than most.

I’ve just about been holding my breath waiting for THIS reaction. You paused every place I did when it hit me that their vocal range was much more than I ever anticipated. Here’s a cheat sheet on how I remembered some of their names: Hinata - vocalist, usually the only blond Juria - vocalist, usually dark brown hair with bangs Chisa - vocalist, very narrow face and angular jawline, usually has light brown or orange hair This is the song that really put Maya on my radar as a possible all-rounder mvp. Her flow in Woke Up and Howling was untouchable. Her solo in Winter was inspirational. Her technique in dance (MOVE) was nearly perfect. I adore all these girls, but I’m keeping my eye on Maya to see what else she’s made of! Thank you so much for letting us join you on your journey through the XG wormhole. They're good becuase they learned from the best. TLC, Destiny's Child, Aaliyah, Lauryn Hill, Michael Jacksonn, etc. 5 years of training and practice before debuting. There's a whole 7(?) part documentary on them called Xtra Xtra! FYI in addition to the OMVs The XG Tapes showcase the 4 rappers. (You already did Tape 2 Galz Xypher) The XG Vox's showcase the 3 singers. (#5 and #6 will blow your mind) The XG Move's showcase their dance skills. (#3 and #4 will blow your mind) All OMVS have behind the scenes Vlogs, choreography only versions, and a damce practice, too. They're all Japanese, except for Hinata (Hee-nah-tah) who is Japanese/Korean and Harvey who is Japanese/Australian. Harvey is actually her last name. First name is Amy, which she'll say sometimes in her rap. They all are trilingual, so in the Xypher they were spitting in 3 languages. Shet, they'll put 3 languages in just one bar! I think that apart from the fact that they are super talented and exceptional the music takes us (people over 40) to the old days when we were in our teens and early 20’s, big time nostalgia in their sound! Actually, Harvey is a singer singer. There's just nowhere in the group for her voice for most tracks. She has a very angelic voice and you can get a sample of her singing on Howling when she says "so run when you hear the sound," just before the chorus. She's up there with Chisa, but Simon's waiting for the right time to bring her voice out. Cocona can really really SAAAAAAANG too. Same deal, but she's on the opposite spectrum. She's more like Toni Braxton or Anita Baker, as to where Harvey is more like Halle Bailey. Also, if you watch Xtra Xtra, you'll hear Harvey singing. They truly ALL can be considered vocalists. You saw Maya shine. They can all do that.

There is a rare exception when they are doing some English interviews standing where Maya will be on the left closer to the interviewer because she is the most fluent English speaker

Hey! Im loving your genuineness and energy! Really interesting thoughts too, thanks for reacting to XG 🧡 In my case, I love many groups form the world of Kpop/Jpop. There's so many crazy talented young women and men on that side of the globe coming out with insanely creative music. (not "original" like they came up with the concepts/styles etc) more like they sure be taking elements from all over and cooking captivating stuff with it, using them right, Lol), That said, XG to me stands 1000% to their name, they are extraordinary girls. If one takes into account their ages the sheer amount of ability they each individually have is monstruous. They are scary good. Dance, delivery, flexibility, vocals, teamwork, performance, not to mention not a single one lacks in full charisma and personality. (Which sometimes happens in other groups)

If it hasn’t been mentioned the original clip that introduced you to XG with Hinata a Jurin starting out is also from the Shooting Star First take probably recorded the same time as this. I'm a 65 yr old music lover and like you, I love most genres, from KPop to country, except heavy metal. So, basically I've heard a multitude of artists. To answer your question, the only two other groups I've heard that are turning out music as good and unique as XG are the two top KPop groups of all time, BTS and BlackPink. They blow my mind with every song.!if you go back and listen to every song in order, they tell you straight up what they are going to do. They tell you they are going to keep you on your tippie toes, not knowing what they have in store for us. The respond to the haters, throw you for a 6 with their sweet voices, tell you know one can out do them, out dance them ect and all the while do it in the sweetest yet toughest way. I blow my car stereo up with their songs. Loud enough for all to hear! I need to share this graceful, grungy group!

Depending on how far into the rabbit hole you want to go, and some decide not to and that's ok. you do you, you're missing out but you do you. When they do these live takes and even in concerts, whenever they're in a line like this they're always set up the same.
