True, some of these decisions are weird. It should have been either Brooke or maybe Maxine for Malta. Or why this song for Latvia? And while Spain had more viable options (Quiero Arder, Arcadia) as well, Nochentera is at least a great song with many fans as well and is even ranked no1 in this video, so I kinda get it. And some other picks, where you don't get, how and why they chose it, sometimes it's their NF's 2nd place, sometimes it's a fan favorite or televote winner, sometimes it's neither of these options. And the worst case scenario is obviously Czechia. Pam was either first or second in every fan ranking, and in the NF, she finished 2nd with a huge advantage over 3rd, 4th and 5th place. Her song has got a great hook and a catchy melody, and had they nominated her, then she would have given Sweden, Norway and Spain a run for the win. Definitely Top 5, if not Top 3. I don't understand it. Maybe the OGAE for the rest of the world can still nominate her.

@@grambi I believe they picked Nochentera because that's the song that went on to have more success after the contest, as being played on the radio and gathering more streams on music platforms. Same thing happened with Rigoberta last year

Some countries treats their national selections seriously, in Poland they were done again unprofessionally, week and one rehearsal, the sound done probably by children. If our broadcaster won’t start to pay more attention on how they pick our entry people always will be unhappy.

Blanka wasn't great vocally (at least, she improved in Liverpool) but by far not the worst, maybe even among the better half.

So no, “Gladiaror” was the best choice, he had huge potential. @@mickydrew yes, there was a lot wrong with Eaea, first and foremost the lyrics, but not everyone understands Spanish and/or reads the translation of the lyrics on the official Eurovision website. And also everything else is lacking. It's kinda annoying. Nothing's experimental about it. The second annoying song in the BF final was better, at least, it had more of a rhythm and the staging was better. But this would have flopped as well. But except for Quiero y duelo, maybe inverno en marte, every song in the final would have gotten more than just 5 points from the public. And Agoney, Megara, Vicco and Alice Wonder all could have ended up on the left side of the scoreboard, it's not like Spain didn't have any options. Instead, they chose a song for infants. Hope, they'll do better next time.

Eaea is what we say in lullabies, yes, but a kid would not understand the symbology of the song and its meaning. Sending a quality song and not getting a deserved position is something that happens in the contest almost every year (or every year) it doesn't matter the country, and it doesn't mean a song is not good enough. And yeah, it's experimental just because it's not the usual bulería we have gotten used to hear here. Obviously you can't like or not the song, but at least be respectful.

Spain once again going with what would do better in their national music market rather than what would have a more international appeal (Quiero Arder). I have mixed feelings about that. Vicco will probably still do pretty well because the fans love her song, but if we were talking about the actual contest, she would be another flop, just like Blanca Paloma.

Yeah, Agoney definitely would have done well in the actual contest, Top 10 at least. I don't know, why they didn't choose it for the 2nd Chance Contest, it might have even won. Megara and Alice Wonder wouldn't have flopped in the actual contest either and would have been better choices for the 2nd Chance Contest as well. Vicco is probably gonna do well here, since it's a fan poll and you don't have to convince people outside of the bubble. I don't know, how well she would have done in Liverpool, but she definitely would have gotten more than just 5 points from the televote. And I don't think, it would have finished last with the public either.

Jeez, they should have chosen Pam Rabbit for Czechia, but I hope, this isn't thd official thing. In Romania, I would have preferred Bla Bla Bla, maybe even Puppet, but at least, it came in 2nd. I would have chosen something else for Portugal as well. But I can understand it, same with picking I Was Gonna Marry Him over Freedom. Okay instead of Dancing Lonely or Doomsday Dancing, maybe. Yes, I could have understood Norway sending Ella, Jone or someone else, or Smash Into Pieces or Tove for Sweden. But who in their right mind chose this song for Latvia instead of Hush? Absolutely. I agree, Hush was the obvious choice for Latvia, alternatively, they could have chosen Fake Love (maybe even Tricky or Sway, who were higher up in fan rankings), in Malta, they should have chosen Maxine or Brooke. But the worst thing is Czechia not sending Pam Rabbit. Why? She finished miles ahead of 3rd place. And while I agree with you that Iceland and Romania had better options, it's fair to say that their picks at least finished 2nd in the National Final.
