When I took my one year of undergraduate chemistry (in 1986), we were told that the committee in charge of these things had given up on names because of all the fighting over naming rights. (There were elements with different names in the Western bloc and the Eastern bloc). So henceforth there would be only the systematic names for new heavy elements. I'm glad to see that we've got past that.

One question that could make an educated guess at would be whether oganesson would be a gas at room temperature (like the elements above it), a liquid, or a solid. Since melting and boiling points go up among nonmetals as molecular weights go up and all noble gasses are monoatomic, the calculation would likely be straightforward.

What happens if new elements do not fit the normal columns of the periodic table like having ellement 119 in the alkali metals group and it turning out to be a toxic gas like chlorine would that make it a Halogen?

Scientists must have been like, "At last, we can name an element after an Armenian. His name will sound like an element anyway! If his name is Oganessian, we can just call it Oganessium." Then someone throws in the spoiler: "It's a noble gas." "Oh, shoot. Oganesson it is, then."

I'd like to thank all involved for making this series of videos, especially the professor, who was very informative, and more importantly, a great teacher. Our planet and our universe are filled with so many interesting things, and we should never take the majesty of this for granted. All the best, Mike. :)

Is there an actual/theoretical limit on the number of protons we could have in an element, in the video it describes that elements 119,120 are next, is there a finish line?

First of all, I love your videos! I really like what you say about data integrity and I could not agree more than that data manipulation is against everything science is about. Unfortunately, science has some major flaws contributing to data integrity issues. There is a toxic culture of “publish or perish” and a persistent disapproval of negative results, which in turn hardly ever get published nor are valued (enough) by the scientific community. No publishable data means no further funding means end of career, no matter how brilliant of a scientist you are and how carefully thought out your experiments. In my opinion it leads to an inflation of scientific quality, I see a lot of papers coming out with questionable experimental set-ups, poor controls and VERY poor statistics. I can’t comment on the field of chemistry, but this is for sure a major problem in biomedical research.

Professor, What is your opinion of Jacque Fresco's "The Venus Project"? Sociology is equally trying to understand nature but from an entirely different philosophy. "Very few people can communicate with one another. The only language that's not subject to interpretation is mathematics, chemistry, basic science, engineering principles, and applied agriculture. But other than that, many systems today are subject to interpretation." I quote!

Thanks of CERN it possible to label in the future 177 elements based on elements that lives 1 sec or not even a 10/sec maybe you can inform and make new videos of it, greatly appreciate it, thanks
