This content for me is a necessity every week. Alec, please never apologise for a 90 minute pod. We need it. PC's European record is incredible, there's no other word for it. I have a feeling that on Dec 15, the big man, the players, the club and the fans MUST get the win to help kick start the season. I would take the worst game of football ever witnessed to homosapian man, a deflected scuffler, trickling into the net for a 1-0 win and give PC some breathing space and time to get this big blue rolls Royce.....rolling again.
@FatEck1999Ай бұрын
Many thanks, my friend. Very kind of you. And I appreciate you taking the time. Yes, I would absolutely love it if we could get a result on the 15th and, to be honest, I was pleased we got this extra chance before the next league meeting for Clement to stop his Old Firm rot. Penalties against nine men - yup - I'd take it any old way we can get it too because, as you rightly say, he just needs to get that monkey off his back before he has any chance of winning over the entire support. He's become so good away in Europe that it's not just being taken for granted - it's being disregarded. I can't help thinking that when he gets that first OF win, he won't be able to stop beating them. Yet he won't get many more chances at that first derby victory.

Manifique Sir! 👍🤣 Just catching up with your glorious upbeat summary tonight! Delighted for my two boys and I to witness such a wonderful performance and result in person! A phenomenal night for the Teddy Bears and our wonderful fans! Delighted too for the manager and players as the pressure on them was enormous. Keep up the superb mad scribblings and garrulous summaries! Looking forward already to the next pre-match rambling! 💙🇬🇧

"Coincidence becomes correlation" - that's poetry, Colin. Loving it,sir - definitely stealing that one. And, yes, the all-blue is poetry in motion again. I'm yakking on about Milan's famous European kit but we've got one of our own and it's racking up some great results. One of the best in our history last night. And you're spot-on about Sunday. Had to laugh at Big Phil talking about "credit in the bank" last Saturday. Walter bloody Smith barely had any credit in the banks whenever his Rangers slipped up so, with one domestic away win all season, Philippe, just you get your overdraft extended and win, win, win in Perth.💪👍💙

@@wboyle9721😂😂 we were struggling in a game and Mr Meney had his inspirational team talk all ready. Determined to show us that nobody ever remembers runners-up, he pulled us into the huddle and asked this bunch of 14 year olds, "Boys, who was the SECOND man on the moon?" As one, we all replied, "Buzz Aldrin" His face drops, he shouts " Oh right so the one time I DON'T want you to know the answer to a physics-related question is the one time you know it?", told us we were playing shite and we went back on court feeling so clever that we won.

In my 68 years on this planet, I've never read Hemingway, but boy, am I glad my mate Colin Cameron introduced me to your podcast. Simply the best, Alex. Can't wait for the next one.
@FatEck1999Ай бұрын
He's on a bonus, Albert - Cameron gets a hundred quid for every new customer he sends my way. make sure you get your split, off him!😉😄 Very good of you to check it out, my friend. Very much appreciated. Aye, he's some man, Colin isn't he - absolute diamond and I've been stealing his patter for years now. Great thing about Hemingway is so much of his message is "between the lines" or "below the surface" it means most of his books are all relatively short, which suits a slow coach like me. Can highly recommend Fiesta and A Farewell to Arms but his short story collections - especially Men Without Women and The Snows of Kilimanjaro - are exceptional. But, 68 years? Are you telling me you were born the very year Rangers first stepped into the European arena, with a game against a certain OGC Nice? I only ask coz I spend a lot of time talking about stuff "I've waited my whole life for" so it's nice to know one bluenose last night got something they'd literally waited their whole life for👌💙
@AlbertlindieАй бұрын
I think I will struggle to get that split from Colin 😂. Your spot on Alex....born in the east end of Glasgow in June 1956. I retired a couple of years ago after 40 years in the oil industry......so I have plenty of time to go look for your Hemingway recommendations.

Eck , another really enjoyable podcast ( from a Hemingway going in reverse but would mean Congregationalism/ Calvinism terminus & they aren't notoriously pro Judaism either ). Anyway to the Fitba ' - great background knowledge & history of the earlier clash in ' 56 which was year I was born. Question? Are they in fact superior quality players but buckle under the demands and intensity of an Ibrox but the entitlement/expectations as an Institution of almost part of the fabric of a Scottish nation. Celtic suffer similar but probably less so as their antecedents are external & sort of transcend their immediate environment. Volleyball , eh. Mines were Rugby & played top private schools plus Irish Dancing ( Phwoar the wummin ' ).
@FatEck1999Ай бұрын
Thanks, Brendan. No, it's more a case of if Hemingway was "converting" to anything christian he was obviously taking the Jesus stuff seriously and when folk start doing that at anytime over the last two thousand years, the Jews are often right to be nervous. Anyway, like I said in qualifying my ramble, open and casual antisemitism was a part of life among the set he's portraying so brutally honestly in that book, set a decade before the Nuremberg Laws came into force. Thank "god" there's none of that now, eh😮 Celtic are the establishment club now if there ever was such a thing and the number of foreign players in each club over the last thirty years has reduced all "external forces" to whether or not they have the football ability and the mindset to handle a big crowd, irrespective of what singular characteristics you or I want to imagine onto that crowd. Virtually every player at either OF club this century would be the same player at the other half. But you and I can still enjoy suspending the disbelief. I played rugby for our school once. Full back. But I'm not quick. And I let it bounce, thinking ,"ach, it'll bobble up to me eventually"... Dancing with Irish girls was much more enjoyable.
