Maybe we aren't ready to win multiple games in a row..win one draw one lose one or any variation in that order . It's beyond any sensible explanation . Rather like your REO Speedwagon rendition Alec , no logical reasoning as to why it should appear there as big Phillipe runs out of using the" phrase in that way" to explain our away performances ..but we do know our guys will work harder and harder until we stumble upon the magic formula that allows us to win and win and win ..you get the idea . Many thanks for your efforts !!

@@shantydoctor"Mock Rock", whispers Bob re the New York Dolls. Roxy doing "In Every Dream home a Heartache". The boy from Soft Machine, in his wheelchair, takes "Shipbuilding" to a whole new level. I saw it then and watched so many repeats and have watched so many episodes on KZbin that it's part of my internal furniture, Shanty. Iconic. When I was an actual child, OGWT was something glimpsed if you stole out of bed - strange and transgressive, like The Sweeney on STV: something you often heard from bed but only ever got to see in special circumstances, like babysitters or visitors being in. This meant I was never able to let it go (unlike The Sweeney) and it's probably the reason, along with my parents' tastes and the influence of my aunt's and uncles, that I was never able to restrict myself to one style or era of music. Whistle Test showcased just how much genius is out there.

When you were a pole, James? Polis? Were you on the force? Aye, that's the proper hard team. I liked when the Real Football Factories ( I love gay soft porn) had a vote for the hardest crew in British football and the Old Bill came in at No.1. Definitely saved me from serious damage on at least three occasions. I accumulated a measeley seven stitches and many a black eye, lump and scrape but - without wishing to tempt fate (or start a competition to see who can do it to me first) - I've never had the auld neb broken. Surprising, as it really is just asking for it. But I have the cops to thank for that full intact conk. And i've carried on with my kinda coke to the point where, yup. Aye the Hibees made a wee tactical tweak but I think the greater problem was us running out of steam after the huge efforts of Thursday. Sell Igamane this month and we could afford a proper SPFL Premiership defence. But I'd rather we kept trying to outplay teams and score perfect hat-tricks. Eventually we will get so good at the possession play we'll be able to put Jack Butland's newborn wean in goal.

I had never seen that video, Multipleman. Just checked it out. Beautiful, thanks. A gorgeous song. Gorgeous moment. I also looked up the fact Upstairs at Eric's was released in 1982 and I'm sure it was the summer of 83 my mates and I fell in love with it, playing it endlessly during the school holidays. I'm well older than you, I know but listening to these tunes takes me back to turning 14, Dundee United being the reigning champions of Scotland with Aberdeen being the holders of the Scottish Cup and the European Cup-Winners' Cup and Rangers losing a League Cup final to Celtic. Btw, the youtube video I've seen is dating the concert in question as 7/11/08 but it's posted by ABBAFANUSA so I'm assuming it's not 7th November but 11th July 2008... and if it's "Midnight" then that is surely the best tune ever heard on the 12th. The best start to a pod I've ever listened to Alex. Couldn't stop me from reminiscing about my teenage years being brought up in an east end of Glasgow housing scheme in the late sixties and the seventies. Yeah - "COZ IT's YOU BABE!"- a classic slow dance tune. I'm getting it all in context now. Of course ,a DJ like yerself would remember that one. That was the moment of the night where you cashed in your chips: Has the evening been a success or a flop? Thank you for another informative and entertaining listen Sir! Unfortunately our sloppiness from the vast majority of our eclectic starting 11 killed us! The number of cheap set pieces we allowed Hibs throughout the match was unacceptable- the only way those physical / basic teams score goals from! It is simply naive to do so when we know our back up keeper is too small for those sort of games and our make shift defence isn’t strong enough to deal with crosses or long throws! However I am convinced their penalty was a foul on Hagi and we should have been awarded a penalty at the end when the ball clearly strikes the Hibs defenders outstretched arm to then allow them to clear the ball! Many thanks for the call out - however I fear my prize is another stressful ‘away day’ watch on Thursday unless the weather gods are kind to us and get the game postponed! 🤣🤣🤣 back to work today with less of a Hop, Skip and a Jump than expected! Keep up the good work.

🤣🤣👏👏 Brilliant, Wes. Love it. And I'm laughing because it's all too familiar. I had the living room to myself but thought the fact the tree was still up - it didn't come down til Sunday night - was the reason the Teds started struggling. Was also doing a lot of dodgy stuff with blue tea cups being sat on my right hand side while we were shooting towards the goal to the left on my telly... Hey, the only reason we pumped Celtic is coz I changed the calendar in oor kitchen about thirty seconds after the bells! You gave it yer best, mate but real life just knocked you off the path to good JuJu. It happens. We mustn't feel too responsible. Even if all we're left with, at the end of the day, is a seriously dowdy living room, two points less and the dread of a week drying oot, AT LEAST WE'RE IN IT TOGETHER, SIR! 😆😆 Hope that weekend arrives soon, Wes - for both our sakes - and that Rangers do something to stave off the thirst on Thursday. 💙👍🍻

The point you make about setpieces is pertinent, and as one who follows these stats, rangers' deficiencies both defending them and executing them is salient and also, historically , anomalous for the club. Perhaps significantly, Dundee have the highest proportion of goals from setpieces to total goals in the last two seasons.

I felt that following the strong performance against Celtic on Thursday, the mask of Rangers' makeshift backline slipped.

I have only been visiting Glasgow since 2005, so I think I have somewhat missed out on the days when people used to come up to you and attack you in the street for no reason. My understanding is that the law and order situation improved when they got rid of the housing from the centre and introduced schemes to enable people with criminal records to enter the workplace. I suspect, however, that there are a lot of gaps in my understanding / perception.

Okay so first things first. May have been a bit quiet as I waited for the world to stop spinning so fast but I (and a few other staunch puddle drinkers I will hazard) am here. Even listed to yer fucking gersnet as a sign of solidarity and unabashed support. Still love you even though you are prancing about milking this win. Still the best granda on an eccy in the whole internet.

Eck, your first 5 minutes had me in stitches. It reminds me of many post Bangkok Bear mornings, having to remind myself I’m actually in Thailand not in my birth city of Eberdeen. I’m trying to stick to Diet Coke tonight to watch our (hopeful) 3 points at Easter Road. I’m thankful when reading your comments that there are ‘some’ ‘nice’ Celtic comments. There are those that I wonder, why they bother. Keep up the good work Eck. Gaz

Eck - terrific pod, as usual and as many have observed an absoblooteringly brilliant opening. But ye brought it all back tae me pal; I had just started the recovery from my red wine hangover - aka 'the wrath of grapes' ! Here's hoping we start all over again doon Leith Road, and the temptation tae BEVVY again will be right in our face - all over the Hibees shirts. I'm willing tae give in to temptation if you are, as long as the boys give us plenty of reasons to do so. I would walk 500 hundred miles !

@@brianwilson7541 and Whisky Row on their backs too, the dirty Leith enablers! Thanks for checking this one out too, Brian. And I have much experience of and sympathy with the vin rouge roughness. Been there plenty often. It usually comes with the added bonus of a purple tache too. Just so I look every bit as ropey as I feel😬🍷😄

Hilarious, informative, engaging and entertaining as usual Alec! Loving the Greggs hangover cure description (accurate) and random burst into New Year's Day 😀. Agree about the anti-intellectual nonsense regarding sports science. Keep up the good work and take care 👍.
