I've got a wheel horse that's the same model as the orange one, probably close to similar year. Just to show how much torque these old things have I pulled my 5x8 ft trailer unloaded without even noticing, at about 650 lbs. Before the cold weather hit I had everything to make my own ball hitch for it that would've stuck out about 6 inches and gave me room to turn beyond 90 degrees.

Curious.... why is everyone running such high psi and stiff wall/high ply count tires? Is that whats working well in the mud? Everywhere else other than mud, a 2 ply soft balloon tire run at super low psi (2 or less) like the CST lumberjack gives far superior traction than those tractor tire with higher psi. They just conform to the shape of rocks and roll right over. My rig, crawling in 1st gear with an open diff, would walk right up that sandy uphill stretch you said you had to speed up. Not to mention the cush ride of low psi balloon tires. Tractor-ish tires do look cool though.
@MrStudabaker3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to write. Your preaching to the choir. Big proponent of low psi tires and am all ways telling the boys to lower there psi to at least 4psi. There is no doubt you can crawl up the sandy root ridden hill with an unlocked diff. A few have tried and have not been very successful. Front end comes up and goes hard left. Maybe you have the secret these other boys are missing. I like going fast and have found the level of comfort better then going slow. The use of big horns has improved the ride quality even more. The radial and soft sticky flexible rubber works perfect on Keizer at 4 psi. Superior traction everywhere except mud.
@nateross143 жыл бұрын
@@MrStudabaker Yeah, I'll have to check the Bighorns out, I like trying everything. There's no right or wrong, just what works for a person's preferred style of riding. If you like to ride faster over obstacles, 4 psi is definitely safer to not lose a bead or tear a sidewall,the Bighorns sound like a good choice, and my interest is peaked.

The engine was smoking because it was burning oil as well, the piston broke between the two compression ring lands. Common issue with the Chinese clones. I bought a new piston for it and got it running, then flipped it while running and blew the engine due to lack of oil and it's been swapped to a gas engine since
@------country-boy-------2 жыл бұрын
@@rednecktractors10 ya the Chinese clones have issues for sure. A major design flaw in those small diesels is the tiny needle bearing on one side of the cam shaft. I bought several used 10 HP clones recently and one had an exploded bearing. The retard kept running it with a blown bearing and damaged the camshaft and engine block casting. I ordered a reamer to ream bearing hole bigger to fit larger needle bearing. Was able to find a replacement cam shaft from an engine laying in the metal pile at the scrap yard. Cams were checked with caliper and are in good shape.
@------country-boy-------2 жыл бұрын
Just found a video showing exactly what a blown needle bearing looks like. In the video the block is unrepairable. I want to help support the community by making this issue known. Engineers need to redesign with larger bearings. Just skip through the first 6 minutes of this video- no idea what language it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpLFgp6Imcx4nKM
