One thing I picked up about the DLC’s story, specifically Ogerpon’s lore and the story the villagers believed in, are the concepts of truth and ideals (gen 5 concepts). The villagers viewed the Loyal Three as protectors of the village and were victimized by Ogerpon (ideals) when the reality was that Ogerpon was the victim (truth). And when the truth was spoken, the villagers refused to believe that their ideal tale of events were a lie and shunned anyone who tried to say otherwise

@@dortman2445 I’m fully aware that Hisuian Pokémon are still existing in the present day, for fuck’s sake you can _catch_ White Stripe Basculin and evolve it to Basculegion. However, the game, both Perrin and the Scarlet Dex itself, outright say and go out of their way to indicate that it swam straight from Hisui to Kitakami and just lived long enough. “This Ursaluna-the Bloodmoon Beast-used to live in my homeland waaay back when people still called the region Hisui. Seems like it crossed over the waters here to Kitakami at some point and made itself comfy.” -taken from Perrin’s dialogue about BM Ursaluna. Add on the fact that A. It’s the only one of its form, no other Ursaring can become this form, to the point where it’s a specific Mon in the Kitakami Dex, not just any Ursaluna. B. No matter how many times you reset the encounter it’s always male And C. It plays the “Legends Arceus Alpha Encounter” and Legends Arceus Battle” themes during the encounter It stands to reason that GF is trying to say that BM Ursaluna is an Ursaluna straight from Hisui that kept kickin. Keep in mind, we don’t have a clear time bracket for how long a Pokémon actually lives naturally, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he survived for Hundreds of years, especially if he was an Alpha like the pre battle music seemed to indicate.

Yes but why Ursaking got another form? He already have one in Legends arceus. It's not the only pokemon related to the moon; Cresselia is too or Absol. He has only one mega and nothing else, is cool and still popular. He deserved one as well as Flygon and Dragonite; they got nothing since they exist. No evolutions, no megas, no gigamax, no Alola or Galar forms. I hope one of them will get something in the next game 🙂

For those unaware, the Hisuian Growlithe you get has its Hidden Ability Rock Head, which negates recoil from recoil moves, like Flare Blitz, Head Smash, and Wild Charge (all three being moves that Hisuian Growlithe/Arcanine can learn)

You can’t buy a mask until after the first day of the festival. You can also buy phone cases from the mask stand. Also, go to some clothing stores in Paldea when you get the chance. The Teal Style Card good for more than just new haircuts and it’s likely there will be a similar item in Indigo Disk. Lastly, play Ogre Oustin’ more on the side. Mochi is good for boosting a Pokémon’s base stats and there’s a Mochi that can reset base stats. Plus, clearing Normal mode gets you a new hold item for boosting Fairy type moves called the Fairy Feather.

With how much we can now change about our Pokémon, it only shines a light on the few things we still can't change: ball, gender, and shininess. I don't imagine we'll ever get that last one, but there's no reason why we should be arbitrarily locked into the first two.

I know Mikey normally enjoys making a team that stays consistent for a playthrough, but seeing his strategic team-building side is refreshing to see. Knowing most people had trouble with that Ursaluna battle too, his specific choices of Pokémon were probably one of the more unique ways it could have been approached (apart from Terastallizing, using physical moves, etc). Hats off to you, good sir ~ would love to see playthroughs that use similar strategies and problem solving!

That Hisuian Growlithe is terrifying when you terrestrialize it away from its many 4X weaknesses. It has its hidden ability of rock head which prevents recoil damage and it gets a lot of good moves for coverage using those types of attacks. I turned mine into a normal Tara type with take down, wild charge, flare blitz and rock slide, (i wish it learned headlong rushĺ

It took me until just now to get that Ogrepon and the Loyal Three are based on the story of Momotaro, with the Loyal Three being Momotaro's animal companions and Ogrepon representing Onigashima, the land of ogres/demons. I really want someone to give Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti the names Akainu, Kizaru, and Aokiji, respectively which are the names of the Admirals in One Piece because both sets of three are based on Momotaro's animal companions.

They truly did not mess around with Ogre Oustin. Trying to do the medium mode solo is ridiculously hard. And doing hard mode solo is practically impossible, you definitely need a team to do it. And it’s still pretty hard, even with a team

Technically, that strategy to catch Bloodmoon Ursaluna didn't really need a Mismagius. Any Ghost type, especially a Physical one would have worked as long as it was holding a "Air Balloon".

I’m calling it now. We are gonna get a new form of Kleavor in the indigo disk dlc. As it’s a similar situation to Ursuluna, it’s a three Pokémon line (granted scyther is a split line but it doesn’t matter for this point) you can’t obtain it in the vanilla game as the evolution items are unavailable. I called it on another KZbinrs vid that we’d get a free sinnoh starter with it being Japan themed and the last dlc with a similar theme was isle of armour where we got a free kanto starter. And it suits the theme of a beast

If you used Gengar for Ursaluna, you could have added Disable to your moveset to limit the Calm Minds and make it a bit easier

Yeah, but Gengar lost Levitate so it’d get hit by Earth Power. Though Drifblim can get Disable by breeding with the Muk line, it gets Skill Swap by level up so it can ignore Mind’s Eye. From there just spam Calm Mind and Air Slash.

As someone who stopped playing the game after the postgame was finished this will be extremely difficult with my regular team once i getthe dlc, I never bothered with doing boring raids so my pokemon are all below level 70 (I haven't touched the game in months though so I can't remember)

I think this is the first time a Pokémon game has gotten me to cry. I'm the kind of person who's completely suppressed their emotions, but when I heard Ogerpon's story, I literally had to get tissues to dry my eyes. I love when they give Legendaries personalities, as apposed to them being angry gods who're extremely powerful. Mewtwo and the Legendary Beasts had very touching backstories, but Legendaries like the Weather trio, The Forces of Nature, and the Regis are just angry gods. Legendaries like the Tao trio, and the Aura trio have interesting backstories, but the interest lies more so with how the main antagonists abuse their powers as apposed to the Legendaries themselves. It's kind of a double edged sword because some people may think this is personifying Pokémon too much, but in my opinion, Legendaries are much more significant than the average Pokémon, and giving them more relatable backstories allows you to connect with them better.
