By a country mile, Number One Girl by Rose. Everything about it so good. Anything done by Babymonster. IU - Love Wins All. Aespa - Drama. Bad Villai - nearly anything. Why are they not even more popular?

I'm pretty bias towards all YG artists and they all came out with great music but when GD released Home Sweet Home ft Taeyang and Daesung that hit the top of the list for me. Then performing it at MAMA 2024 was just the icing on the cake 😆

I kept saying to myself where the hell is Howling and Woke Up. Then I got major feels when you dropped them at number 1 and 1A. Howling is just a complete song, rap (with real barz), and the MV with one of the best choruses in a long long time. Other adds for me would be XG's In the Rain and Is This Love, Irene's Summer Rain, ITZY's Gold, All of Aespa's Solo tracks (Winter's Spark being my fave), KIOF's Igloo, NMIXX's Run for Roses and Love is Lonely, and Vermillion by Wendy (RV) just because I always need the GOAT's vocals in my life. And finally although not KPOP but PPop has to be Bini's Cherry on Top just because it's an iconic track for the OPM industry and SB19's Moonlight with one of the coolest choreos of 2024 with the performance video having the choreographer doing the camerawork. Thanks for being one of my favorite reactors. ♥

XG's Woke Up & Howling for me, for sure. Simply incredible accomplishments, both the songs and the videos. I'm obsessed with reaction videos for them, especially by reactors who have never experienced XG before. Especially especially old school hip hop fans who acknowledge they're better than American rappers. I heard the F-word from them a LOT and LOL every time. :)

agree with most, if not all of you comments and rankings. we OG stans do have the same tastes lol. (BoA stan since 2001). ITZY had me worried with GOLD ngl i did not like that song.. but imaginary friend was a chef's kiss, i liked the MV too. i am usually not a JYP person but itzy keeps hooking me. BP solos are doing great on shifting from YG as well imo. especially Rose, very refreshing. Lisa is just doing Lisa things lol. and ofc XG is just XG. one thing about them is that within the alphaz there are two VERY different group of ppl, one group loves them for their hardcore stuff like woke up and howling, while the other one are fans because of bubble gum dance tracks like IYKYK New dance and SAR. two very different groups in music taste yet very united. keep up the good work! u r one of the few reactors that i actually follow and try to catch on when new videos come out. happy 2025

This year is really XG's year, the investment in lyrics, metaphors, wordplay, referencing information from around the world into rap, creating addictive melodies, refreshing old school music and old school rap, XG is really too classy. I still can't tell if XG is KPOP or not but I think not, because XG's music goes completely against KPOP's music listening tastes, I will consider XG not KPOP and put them in a special position because XG is on a level that is too different from the rest, and to say the successful KPOP group this year is AESPA

In my eyes XG is very clearly not K-Pop. Japanese company, Japanese members, English songs produced for the international market (way closer to western hip hop and pop). That's also why they're listed as "non-K-Pop" on all the usual K-Pop sites and aren't eligible for the big Korean Award Shows. They don't even consider themselves to be K-Pop (or J-Pop). Instead they describe themselves as "global" pop. They just "use" the "K-Pop system" (and the popularity of K-Pop) for marketing reasons. Of course that shouldn't take away anything from your enjoyment of them, their music or their talent. So if you love them, than that's amazing! They're "just" not K-Pop but that's ok.

@@Guthwulf11 Korea was originally a Japanese colony, so Japan and Korea have a lot in common, and there are many elderly people in the Korean countryside who can speak Japanese. KPOP started off as a J-pop, and it's said that the beginning of modern KPOP is from BOA, a Japanese company called Avex that created BOA, the company that XG belongs to. In other words, it's true that XG is closer to the origins of KPOP than most of the rest.

Especially considering the difficult relationship between both countries because of Japan's invasions of Korea and its forced colonization in the past (with all its horrors). BoA is a Korean artist under the Korean Label SM Entertainment. SM signed a partnership with Avex for her Japanese debut and to get her into the Japanese market, that's all. Finally... most would say, that "modern K-Pop" started way earlier with acts like Seo Taiji and Boys... BoA btw. said that Seo Taji was one of her big influences as young singer.

Yes, but Imaginary Friend is unclassifiable because this song has moved not only Koreans but also internationals and even non-Kpop fans. Which is pretty crazy. A song that touches the heart of the reader is very rare, not to mention the fact that it has put everyone on the same wavelength.

I totally agree Imaginary Friend is by far the best song of the year and of the 4th generation. In fact, it's one of the most significant songs in kpop. It's been a long time since we've heard this type of song in kpop.

Like agency-sister Twice and "Cry for Me." Not to compare the songs with each other, but the feeling I got within the music of both groups. Suddenly along comes a goose-bump near-ballad that I Just.
