Norman and George Martin were actually the true talent behind the Beatles' machine. Lennon and McCartney really knew very little about writing pop music when they started. Most of their early hits were largely written for them by George and Norman.

It's amazing just how many home-made tributes to this song (and others) that are appearing on You Tube in recent years. Back when his records were being released I was a young man and along with my mates I was into the Moodies, Led Zepp and Floyd, but I had a secret stash of Hurricane's 45's. I loved his unique style, and his songs always had a nice romantic feel about them. Damn, that's given the game away!
