Everything we've seen so far looks awesome. They are rlly giving their best with this remake. I sincerely hope some of this carries over to the next Paper Mario,especially the battle system,story focus and unique characters.

Again kind of hoping that there will be a mode where you can swap to the original soundtrack.

You don't have to hope: In the badge shop at Rogueport you can now buy a badge called "Nostalgic Tunes" (it costs 1 coin) that is avaible since the Prologue and with it you can listen to the original soundtrack. You probably alredy knew that by now, but whatevs.
I can’t wait to pick up Thousand Year Door at GameStop(hopefully they do early release) with a suit and tie.

Wow, and a resounding WOW. At this point, with all of the meticulously finesse attention to detail and the remade storybook intro, this almost feels like a reimagining of Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, and there's still new gameplay features TBA (To Be Announced) on top of that. In all truthfulness, I humbly, I repeat, HUMBLY expected for Nintendo to just do a modest remaster, heck, even just a port of it, but no, they went the extra EXTRA mile with this. They're even putting extra care into some of the most subtle and minute details of the game that you'd probably never notice. The fact that they genuinely care THIS much about Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door is truly heartwarming.

Bro, wake up, Japanese overview trailer just dropped.
@jomahawk74889 ай бұрын
Hey, I also noticed that on the actual Thousand Year Door itself: the Diamond Star is off white and the Emerald Star is green. It’s not just a star outline on the door anymore.

Very excited for the remake. Still have to finish the first paper mario before hoping into this one. But I'm still juggling with some current games like FF7 Rebirth. Side note that invincible review is gonna be almost 5 to 6 hours aye yooo?? 👀

Cortez is my favorite boss and character, during his boss encounter he’s has three different phases in each form. Cortez’s creepy skeletal like appearance and his Spanish personality makes him look charming and dreadful at the same time.

The Smorgs are by far one of the best bosses in in TTYD, it’s mysterious encounter during the travel of Excess express and it’s design is unique where little tiny creatures can form into an abomination.

My issue with the white outlines isn’t the outlines themselves, rather, it’s what they remove. In TTYD, SPM, and Sticker Star, every character is constructed and animated like a paper puppet, with different pieces in front of or behind others, rotating at fixed points wherever possible. TTYD Remake accentuates this by giving these layers HIGHLIGHTS, not outlines, which provide spacial depth and visual flair. The white outlines merge the character down into one layer, removing the puppet-like animation in favor of simple keyframes like PM64. If the white outline was simply a backdrop layer behind a puppet rig I wouldn’t dislike it.

It's that alongside the lower framerate of the characters animations, making them look choppier and more rigid, alongside it comes off as more artificial & ironically one-dimensional, making the characters feel less like characters and more you moving figures around a diorama; less immersive & real.
@kenji64929 ай бұрын
@@SuperMarioTYes, exactly. That choppiness works better in PM64 cause you can see the pixels of the sprites making it feel more like a classic RPG. CS and OK are too detailed and vibrant for the jittery animation.

I still don't like that they are mixing the modern design with the classic design. The paper aesthetic to this degree isn't as lifeless as the modern stuff, but it's still more lifeless than the classic design.
