@jameslikesit: I agree. In my honest opinion Disney would have done alot better if they expanded upon the already existing lore. With spinoffs and such like they did with rogue one. Yeah it would take more time to make their profit back,but they would have had more success and a lot more hits than misses.

In Episode 1 Ki-Adi-Mundi mentioned that the Sith have not been seen in a millenia (when Qui-Gon told everyone that he fought Maul), which is a 1000 years. So if the Acolyte show is going to be set a few hundred years before EP1 that means the threat is largely going to remain not serious enough for the WIDER Jedi to acknowledge.

@rector0455
@rector0455 5 ай бұрын
This was a bit of a plot hole in Episode 1, Mundi claims they're extinct with near certitude, yet Mace and Yoda know about the Rule of Two near the end of the movie. This is bandaged weirdly enough in the Plagueis novel (or it may have been Bane) where the Jedi become aware of the Rule of Two yet just due to lack of notable presence seem to suppose that the Sith simply went extinct sometime after it's creation. Which seems reasonable to me, after all with how often Sith turn on each other, it's something of a miracle that the Rule of Two survived for a thousand years. But you're right, for it to remain in step with the movie canon, these Sith need to be covert, illusive, and any conflict with the Jedi needs to end in no witnesses. Maybe it will... Though honestly, I'm not optimistic about Disney respecting the lore at this point. The more immediate problem I have is with the title, 'Acolyte'. The unspoken consequence of Bane's Rule of Two is that Sith Acolytes became a relic of the past. Acolytes were roughly the equivalent of Jedi Initiates, or students without a dedicated master, and the Rule of Two eliminated the need for them all together. There was only the Master and the Apprentice.

Let's be honest here: Disney absolutely screwed up in the most spectacular way possible by trashing the Expanded Universe novels (which were approved by George and mostly considered canon). There was an established and highly regarded outline already in place that they simply needed to transform into live-action stories. Literally decades worth of celebrated material to draw from. Yet Disney decided to throw it all out and do their own thing. Then they had the audacity to belittle and berate their core audience for not approving of what they've done. That's like going to a car dealership to buy a new Ferrari only to be offered a used Fiat, and then told you're the asshole for not liking the car that they're trying to sell you. You're not going to want to go back to that dealership, and that's where I am right now with Disney's version of Star Wars.

@teleportedbreadfor3days
@teleportedbreadfor3days 5 ай бұрын
My fear for the Acolyte is many, but if I was asked to name my biggest concern for the series, it’s how they’ll approach the Jedi Order. I think this idea they had for the Jedi is interesting and is the kind of plot Disney+ has been lacking when they try to stretch out their shows. However, my problem also lies in the perceptive of the main character. The Jedi have been criticized by members of the fandom well before Disney as being hypocrites, cultists, kidnappers, most of which comes from those critics seeing the Order make mistakes and outputting them as therefore being evil. But it’s simply not true. The Jedi represent a higher ideal that we can strive to be; Living above temptation, helping those in need like it’s natural, unity, etc.. Star Wars isn’t telling us to be exactly like the Jedi, but that also doesn’t mean they’re emotionless sentry bastards, because they aren’t. And they’re still people, people make mistakes. The plot of the Jedi being the antagonists only works if the main character is an unreliable narrator. The fundamental truth is, they would never, ever abandon a world, let alone lie about their word, because they’re meant to be better than that. With all this stuff we’re hearing, coming from the people behind the Acolyte’s production, not even counting Disney’s history of mishandling Star Wars, I worry the Jedi will be portrayed as genuine bastards, that the Jedi who promised to protect this world in a manner that made them sound less like guardians of peace and justice and more like marauders, in exchange for a Force Sensitive child, are not pretenders as they seem to be, the least of reasons being this is not at all how Force Sensitive children are taken in by the Order. The Acolyte sounds like it will be Star Wars’s most damaging media yet. Just when we thought things couldn’t seem any darker for Star Wars.
@a_fine_edition2746
@a_fine_edition2746 5 ай бұрын
When I first read the synopsis and statements, I assumed it was referring to the Jedi as “the villains” in the sense that they were the antagonists for the Sith/Dark Side characters. Not that they themselves were evil. This new info has me much more worried. Jedi don’t just make deals and exchanges, especially for protection. Defending the innocent is one of their sacred duties, they don’t shirk that just because someone won’t give up a Force sensitive child. I sincerely hope there’s some sort of added twist or nuance to it, because otherwise this’ll tarnish the Jedi reputation even more than they already have. That’s like my #1 criticism of Filoni’s work, and doubling down on it is not what I want to see.
@teleportedbreadfor3days
@teleportedbreadfor3days 5 ай бұрын
@@a_fine_edition2746 Ordinarily, you naturally believe they’re not gonna actually be *the villains* because the Jedi are literally supposed to be the opposite. But when you know the usual pattern Disney and Kennedy and co. has done in the years since the purchase, you find yourself also assuming the Jedi will really be exactly how the plot describes them as in contrary to what you naturally believe as a Star Wars fan. If the Acolyte will truly make the Jedi the bad guys, it will truly harm Star Wars more than anything Disney had pumped out since the Disney Trilogy, especially in the face of a fandom that holds members who thinks the Dark Side can be used for good and, most of all, those who think exactly what the Acolyte will seemingly paint the Jedi and their Order as: Arrogant, sociopathic, hypocritical, kidnapping, brainwashing, cultish hobo monks. It’s very likely this is a story written by somebody who does not understand the Jedi at all, who are meant to be something much bigger than us and thus something we are supposed to strive to be like.
@sigmacademy
@sigmacademy 5 ай бұрын
The thing with the Jedi, though, is that they got involved in the local politics of a star power (Old Republic), and that is what eventually led to their downfall - trying to play nice with the current political administration of their day, and then getting burned in a regime change. They tried to pander to the Old Republic politicians in exchange for certain political benefits, but the Sith was ALSO in the political arena and vastly better at the manipulation of the masses and manipulating the right kind of compromised people than the Jedi was. Some of the highest ranks of Jedi also studied Sith holocrons (know thy enemy) for ways on how to understand the Sith and what their weaknesses was, but that also opened the door for subtle corruption at the highest levels of the Jedi Order (not to mention giving Palpatine is a TREASURE TROVE of Sith artifacts that he would have had to rely on other Sith to find for him over time (and being Sith, highly unreliable for the task, acquiring artifacts for their own ascent to power). Lastly, the Jedi couldn't allow family connections to cloud the purpose and vision of those they trained. This might have helped cut off potential avenues of manipulation or blackmail, but it also left the Jedi younglings with probable trauma of being ripped away from their families, and losing out on MANY years of connection with family, all of which could be contributing factors to Sith corruption.

@@sigmacademy There’s a problem in what you’re saying versus what the Acolyte seemingly wants to do to the Jedi: Whether you’re right or wrong about anything you mentioned, the Jedi never acted like what the Acolyte wants to portray and not even Palpatine, who purposefully blurred the line that laid out the Order’s independence in the Republic into all but dissolving via his own influence as a secret Sith Lord, turned them into the bargaining marauders the Acolyte has planned.

Potential spoilers. I’ve got some more details. So these raiders attack the village. A master and a padawan called Melody arrive to help them. Afterwards they find the sisters mentioned in the video. One is 12 I believe the other 4 or 5. Now the latter is taken, the other is not because she’s too old to be trained. The one who is 12 also grows a friendship with the Padawan Melody. Time skips and the village is under attack again by the raiders. People die as the Jedi don’t arrive. The main lead now older loses her people and in a desperate moment unleashes her power and kills all the raiders. Then Melody does arrive, but because she’s too late the few surviving villagers force the lead to kill her. She does and feels all alone and leaves the village with a friend. I don’t know the exact details of the rest, but I do know that she finds a Sith Temple and gets trained with other acolytes. The description said that the audience knows they have to fight and kill each other, but the acolytes don’t know this.

Plagueis was said to have served his master Tenebrous for a century before he killed him. That would leave the show a bit less than a hundred years to make the story and the characters they want before having to align with what the book said. That is if they even bother to address anything from the novel at all.

I was never interested in the Acolyte as soon as i heard Leslie Headland was the showrunner, a ex-PA to one Harvey Weinstein and has a NDA out so NO ONE can ever ask her anything about her time working for that monster (whether she brought woman to his office to be blackmailed and propositioned while she just turned a blind eye to everything), that's something i always found very suspicious about her. I think Plagueis WILL appear somewhere at the end or final episode of this series, and that specific character will end up drastically changed from the EU stories and lore; and be made to fit how exactly Lucasfilm want it. and 4:24 theory you're right that's Exactly what they ALWAYS do and sadly the main reason WHY Disney do this is because they simply don't want to pay the EU writers of those books and characters they created, "Royalties". that's why they change these things up slightly, one of the first ever original EU writers - Alan Dean Foster explained all of this in a interview a couple years ago with Midnight's Edge. And it's really sad too because he explained that he's suffering now with the big C, and really kind of needs those residuals for his treatment; true story. Disney are just scummy.

@RaikenXion
@RaikenXion 5 ай бұрын
@DaPleasantPheasant Yes Sadly it's the truth, it's the main business reason why Disney even made the entire *Expanded Universe* into their "Legends". So they can basically mine that treasure trove of REAL Star Wars Lore for characters and elements they can use in their new stuff, change it up the old "25% different" rule, and that's how they get around not having to pay any Royalties to the very writers who created those classic things. It's horrible how Disney have treated Alan Dean Foster lately, they owe him residual cheques for his TFA Novel, Spliter of the Mind's Eye EU novel, and now they own the ALIEN franchise (though Fox) his Alien Covenant Novel. He said they sent him a few cheques then suddenly stopped, and when he phones and emailed Disney they have never replied. Sounds like they're just basically waiting for him to pop his clogs tbh, it's disgraceful. That's why you can really look at everything happening to Disney right now and chalk it all upto Karma. But u wish moat fans were aware of this truth, were NEVER going to get anykind of Adaptations of the Thrawn Trilogy, Shadows of the Empire, or any other classic EU story.

Plagueis was murdered 10 years before the Clone Wars, and he was close to 200, maybe 230 at that point. Plagueis was still a child under 10 when Tenebrous took him as an apprentice. What we don't know was how old Tenebrous was at that time. They will at least have to acknowledge Tenebrous, or his master if they stick to the Plagueis novel. But I don't think they will. I think they will just ignore it because NOTHING has been fixed at Lucasfilm.

If they are going to have siblings on opposite sides I could see them potentially drawing from SWTOR with the twins, eternal throne, Vaylin as inspiration. To me that was a a very good story and after Luke/Leia and even SWTOR I think the twins thing has been done enough. Siblings, fine but maybe a younger sibling who the jedi wouldn't have sensed the force in yet with some resentment the Jedi took their sibling away and then the Jedi not come back pushes them over the edge. Plus, if Ahsoka/Ezra can teach Sabine the force then surely a group of Sith Lords could teach someone whose sibling was already force sensitive. Like how in the original trilogy Leia only showed force powers with sensing Luke but then later trains and trains Rey (sorry for bringing sequels into my comment). I'd be very interested to see Sith Lords potentially working together. Because all the average person or even above average fandom has seen is Palpatine. Just one Sith Lord. I am also curious about what they will do with Yoda. Even in the prequels Yoda is getting up there in age showing some lack of endurance. Make him a couple centuries younger and could we see Yoda in his prime? Maybe Yaddle, but that feels like a bit too wishful. We have all these great deceased Sith Lords lore that has never been explored in TV/film but video games and books explore it and people like it a lot. I just hate seeing prob like most Disney ignore all this well written already existing story content. I get you might not want to copy and paste, maybe have something unique but you don't need to change things just for the sake of changing them.

If i remember well, Plagueis spieces lives for 450 years, and he was killed in fantom menace in his 200-250 and Tenebrus broke at least once the rule of two so if the people that are making the show care and know about star wars then that girl could be tenebrus first apprentice because Plegueis would be or a baby or a kid at this poit and if the species of tenebrus lives around 80 years then his other apprentice wouldn't even be born
@Fracture_.
@Fracture_. 5 ай бұрын
The timeline is my biggest concern. Palpatine isn't born yet, nor is plagueis, potentially tenebrous, tho he would be very young, a child mostliky . But Tenebrous`s master is most likely alive then, and we don't know his name, but they are a male red twi'lek. Darth Plagueis was born 115 years before "The Phantom Menace." That alone leaves 85 years for the birth and training of Tenebrous, and the death of his master. Depending on Tenebrous`s age, his master is either very young, properly teenage, but that still leaves his master, which could be the sith that arrives at the village, we know nothing about him. But that kind of spoils the show, if they follow a similar timeline, so prepare for lore to be broken.

@under_score3829 5 ай бұрын
@@Jason-ul3bd Plagueis and Tenebrous don't have to be IN the show. I think most of us just don't want the lore to be contradicted. We're fine with original stories. You don't have to contradict what's there to be original. But the reason people expect they might be involved is because of the idea that the Sith are taking advantage of that girl's grief. So if the Sith are involved, those two are who the Sith were at that time. If you want to use different dark side characters, that's fine -- change your setting to an earlier year. Change your setting so that your original story makes sense. @Fracture_ Actually, Plagueis is older than that. I use the Ruusan Calendar, where A New Hope is year 1000. So Phantom Menace is 968. In 935, when Palpatine was 17, Plagueis told him "In human years, I would be well over 100." (Darth Plagueis, Ch 9) In Chapter 5, the narration says "One hundred years earlier, Tenebrous's Twi-lek Master had opened a small rend in the fabric of the Force, allowing the dark side to be felt by the Jedi order..." Meaning Tenebrous's master was alive a hundred years ago. We know Plagueis was recruited at a very young age (unclear; older than 5), and we know that he couldn't have been Tenebrous's apprentice while Tenebrous's master was still alive, at least not for a long time. Thus, Plagueis must have been a little kid (we know it's between 5 and 15; maybe 10) when the master was killed, and recruited by Tenebrous shortly after - 100 years before the novel. Thus, at the beginning of the Plagueis novel, he must be around 110 or so, fulfilling the "well over a hundred" line. The Acolyte takes place 100 years before the Phantom Menace, in 868. Plagueis, if these calculations are true, would have been 45 in that year, so Plagueis and Tenebrous would chronologically be the two Sith at the time of the Acolyte. So the timeline would be: 823 Plagueis is born 833 Tenebrous's master does the dark side thing; then Tenebrous kills his master and recruits 10 year old Plagueis 868 The Acolyte takes place when Plagueis is 45 933 Plagueis kills Tenebrous when he's 110 935 Plagueis meets a 17 year old Sheev Palpatine when he's 112

I mean the premise sounds good, it’s almost like the reverse of Seven Samurai with the Jedi not helping the village like they promised and it also helps to build resentment against the Jedi Order by the time of the clone wars and the rise of the Galactic Empire. We know from legends that one Sith Lord (Darth Millennial) broke away from the Rule of Two and instead of being hunted down and killed as a traitor, he began a cult of dark side prophets which Palpatine made use of a thousand years later. So what if the “Acolyte” does a similar thing and starts her own dark side cult or joins another like say, the Nightsisters of Dathomir and (this is far fetched as I am willing to go with this) becomes the Nightsister we know as Mother Talzin? In TCW when speaking with Dooku was Talzin referring to working with the Sith in the past? Or was it the Jedi?

It would make sense because Mace would use his Shatterpoint ability to see a weakness in Vader’s suit and realize it’s vulnerable to Force Lightning. Mace would then use his dark emotions to conjure purple Force Lightning and win the duel with little difficulty. Please include this in the episode. It would be so cool.

That’s one of the things i feel canon and legends actually fit really well together with is filling the other continuity’s time gaps for who the banite sith were at certain times. For example, here is a compiled list of a rough canon+Eu chronology of the banite sith we know so far from bane to Sidious and his apprentices: Bane Zannah Cognus Millennia Sanguis Noctyss Vectivus Gravid Gean Caldoth Ry Nymbis Guile Ramage Tenebrous’s Master Tenebrous Plagueis Venamis Sidious Maul Vergere (kinda) Tyranus Vader

Through some of the legends material there was always a small mention of people who were interested in the sith and the dark side who were not necessarily sith themselves but more like groupies. There were also force users who were also dark side users also not tied to the true sith. This series could theoretically revolve around such people without actually stepping on the toes of legends material that we feel are still cannon such as Plagueis. After all Ventress was first introduced as a dark sider claiming to be sith but wasn't actually a sith.

*Godzilla* *x* *Kong* (pronounced Godzilla *and* Kong) I'm starting to think my most anticipated movie of 2024 will be Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. I believe it can make over a billion dollars for Warner Bros. like Furiosa could. Since I was a child who loved animals and dinosaurs since watching Dumbo (1941), I've been a big fan of Godzilla and Kong. My first Godzilla toy was one for Mechagodzilla when I was about 6-years-old. Now I've never really been into kaiju movies. It's never really been my thing. Between kaiju or Jackie Chan films, I'd pick JC. The more attractive niche films. So far, I've seen only 7 Godzilla movies and 4 Kong movies with GvK included for both. But ever since watching Minus One about two weeks ago, all I've been doing is watching Godzilla videos on KZbin and scouring the Internet on which Godzilla toy to get next. I'm starting to think Godzilla is my favorite fictional character or at least top 5 and over a legendary character like Darth Vader! I mean, who are we really rooting for underneath that Vader suit? A charred up, decapitated Anakin? Godzilla would just stomp on Vader without knowing it. Add the fact that he heals so fast, has his atomic breath, and nukes won't kill him. So yesterday, I downloaded three movies not only in 1080p but in 10-bit HEVC (High-Efficiency Video Coding).... Thor: Ragnarok (my favorite MCU film) Avengers: Infinity War (2nd fav MCU film) Godzilla vs. Kong (my favorite G & K film) Man, they're so clear! There is a noticeable difference when downloading a regular 1080p over a 1080p in 10-bit. They look so nice on my Pixel 3 next to my Season 1s of Andor and House of the Dragon. I was planning to get more 1080p/10-bit for my favorite Indiana Jones and Star Wars movies but I couldn't find any at 10-bit and under 3 GB per movie is my limit. I was watching GvK yesterday and the way both move is the most realistic for any Godzilla and Kong film. Godzilla used his tail to split open a navy ship. In the Toho ones with a guy in a rubber suit, Godzilla can't move like a real animal or dinosaur. While I love the Heisei design the most among the Toho Godzillas, there are too many limitations to how Godzilla moves. He can't swing his tail like he can if he was in CGI. Ever since getting my Hiya Godzilla KOTM Exquisite Basic a day after my birthday (Dec 5), I'm starting to think the Legendary/MonsterVerse Godzilla is becoming my favorite Godzilla of all-time. I initially didn't like his design due to Godzilla having a smaller head which makes him look fat. But as I watch scenes from other Toho films, I'm starting to appreciate the second American design of him. I do like the Minus One design but he's back to the 1954 size of 164 feet. MV Godzilla is the most realistic design with the most realistic movements for a giant creature that stands at 355-393 feet. That's how he should move. Same applies to Kong. He's no longer a guy in a gorilla suit. Stop-motion and animatronics have their limitations. MV is also more accessible for an American audience like myself. It's a much deeper lore than you think if you read more into it. Wait for the next GxK trailer when we get our first glimpse of Shimu. Favorite Godzilla Designs 1. 2019/2021 (KOTM/GvK) 2. 1991 (GvKG/Suit A/Shinjuku) 3. 2023 (Minus One) Favorite Godzilla Films 1. Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) 2. Godzilla Minus One (2023) 3. ????????????????????????? I used to have Godzilla (2014) as my 3rd favorite. But I rewatched it recently and it's just too slow and dark for me. Bryan Cranston did act his ass off. Aaron Taylor-Johnson's character felt so bland. It's weird rewatching it now when ATJ and Liz Olsen portray a married couple in it only to be the Maximoff twins a year later. It's like watching incest between siblings or Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher portraying a married couple prior to making Star Wars. I don't really know what's my 3rd favorite Godzilla film anymore. Maybe KOTM 2019 because I like his design better because his dorsal plates got bigger over the 2014 ones. Went back to the 1954 spine design. Godzilla kicked ass in it while GvK feels more like a Kong movie. I didn't care about all the emo scenes involving Vera Farmiga and Millie Bobby Brown in KOTM though. Felt forced. Eleven is not even my favorite character in Stranger Things. Vera was great in Hawkeye. Or maybe my 3rd favorite is the 1954 one? Classic music. Classic Oxygen Destroyer story angle. Was the best Godzilla film until Minus One came out. GxK will end up being top 3 because I love both characters and it's going to be a blast watching them team up together. It's going to be silly like GvK was but it's the silly/campy fun from the 60s/70s Showa Era but looks far better thanks to CGI. I want Skar King and Shimu to also be badasses. MonsterVerse similar to Captain America: Civil War is becoming more WWE. The Godzilla IP's popularity is at an all-time high with MV and -1 and is capable of being the new big blockbusters replacing the waning interest for superhero movies. There is something badass watching titans / kaijus fighting while cities are getting destroyed around them. Think of all the Avengers films and Captain America: Civil War but multiply the character sizes by 50-60x more. Who doesn't want to watch giants fight? Watching Godzilla and Kong fight Shimu and Skar King will be epic. Watching Godzilla and Kong fight nearly 3 years ago was already epic for me since the first film I saw of them was their 1962 film. When we see both running in that GxK trailer, it's a copy of Infinity War's first trailer. I believe Godzilla will return the favor and save Kong's life this time. Kong will probably lose to Skar King. Kong may even die in it since he usually dies in his films from gunshot wounds. GxK is starting to look like a buddy cop movie in line with Lethal Weapon and Rush Hour but with kaijus! The two icons are going to end up being homeboys and I predict it's going to be my favorite or 2nd favorite Godzilla and Kong film ever right next to GvK. I think GxK is going to be the Infinity War for kaiju movies. GvK is more Batman v Superman / Captain America: Civil War. They fight for one film but team up later. I predict GxK is going to break a billion and it's going to make more money than Deadpool 3. 👀 People are tired of superhero shit. I thought some of y'all hate Disney and you want to watch them fail? I don't see another MCU movie by Disney breaking a billion until Secret Wars. GvK was the most pirated movie of 2021 and made $470M when most theaters hadn't reopened yet. The events of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is between the 2014 and 2019 G films. It's going to leave clues in anticipation for GxK. Godzilla rules! I think he's better than Darth Vader and Vader was my favorite movie character for a very long time. As much as I love Indiana Jones and Star Wars when I was a kid, they're both outdated for action/adventure films. They were great in the 80s through 00s when we were still kids with lesser expectations and experiences, but their action sequences have been surpassed by modern IPs. There are too many hokey moments in IJ and SW. But once they cue John Williams' music, your nostalgia kicks in. I had Revenge of the Sith over Infinity War among my favorite films. But when I was rewatching Infinity War yesterday, I realized it really is the much better film. The action is way better. Not just space samurais with laser swords doing backflips and using telekinesis. And I find all the spaceship battles from any SW film boring to rewatch. Watching Anakin fight Obi-Wan and Yoda fight Sidious was cool in 2005, but it's not as cool as Godzilla fight Kong in Hong Kong. Without lightsaber duels, Star Wars is generally an overrated, boring franchise to watch for me regurgitating the same Anakin story. I only care for Andor among SW these days. Revenge of the Sith was cool to watch for 2005 but not in 2023. CGI and fight sequences have gotten so much better since 2005. At some point, certain action sequences for classic movies become outdated and it's our childhood nostalgia that keeps us at remembering them fondly. Godzilla x Kong and Furiosa are contenders at breaking a billion next year. Both coming from WB. Who predicted Barbie and The Super Mario Bros. Movie would become the highest grossing films of 2023? Nobody.

Completely aside from the fact that Disney doesn't respect the legacy of Star Wars at all, their constant efforts to paint the Jedi/good guys as evil and the Sith/Dark Side as sympathetic and even good are really weird and concerning.

200 years could easily be before tenebrous time in the sith, and these "sith" might not be from the line of bane, they could be a fracture from the sith empire, possible escaped sith brotherhood types, or people from the line of Bane that were culled before or during tenebrous early times.

Palpatine never said plegus was “HIS” master. Plegus could’ve been a rule of 2 sith long before palpatine. That’s my mindset & it doesn’t break CANNON (RotS)

The synopsis you outlined at the beginning sounds like such an entry level origin story and its so upsetting. I've accepted that some things will change. I just wish they took some of the Legends and changed it to fit the new canon. This character for instance, the Dark Side sister. I think it'd be much cooler if they just take Darth Zannahs story shell and interpose it here from the Rule of Two books. Bane slipped his way through history and mafe it to the new canon. But I wouldn't be upset with Zannahs consciousness surviving in her body because she was good with the more magical sides of the Dark Side. Then just like Bane, shes been passing her consciousness as well. Maybe her conscioueness has faded over the centuries but comes back because of the hate for the Jedi brought about by the failed deal. Then we have a mystery component through the show/movie hinting that an "Ancient" Sith has been active and thats another level of whats been messing with the Balance of the Force all this time leading to Anakin and the Skywalker prophecy. This may be too shoe-horned in, but I think it'd be an interesting base for new people and have tangible connections to get the Legend Era fans invested as well

The expectation is that the "Acolyte" becomes the good guy and chooses a path that isn't Jedi or Sith so she probably won't even be related to the Plagueis master and apprentice line. Disney has consistently introduced their bad guy characters and made them into their good guys in each of the spin-offs. Mando, Boba Fett, the sister in Kenobi... They'll do the same with this spin-off. No way Disney has the guts to center their show around an actual Sith.

plagueis is canon, and in ep 3 in the mentioning of him, it seems implied that he was palpatine's master, from the theatre for the light show when palpatine talks about plagueis, and from when anakin finds out that palpatine is the sith lord, thats my interpretation of this.
