The real question is how many times was it played in the last 32 years, and how many more times will it ever be played again?

too bright for the sensor, then the VCR goes crazy and the cassette doesn't come out or it runs and runs

@@VHSRetrofieber Yep, which is why it finally came out when his hand shaded the sensor. Cheers!

I removed mould by opening up my vcr load the tape in my machine and lifted the tape out of the head guides held toilet paper up on it pressed fast forward (mine doesnt go so fast so it's easier to guide along the pinch roller) Rewound flipped the cleaning side and fast forward i did that about 10 times cleaned the vcr and now its completely clean the tape and vcr

As an average watcher I'd want to know where you get these devices to clean. I'm personally using a opened vcr with pec pad and 91% alcohol and the fast foward or rewind button (which I do not want to do). Since this is a dying business maybe do a Q&A video rather than a playlist. My question is how do you keep the film level when rotating at that high of speed such as VHS-C?

A few companies make ad hoc cleaners, mine is from Brazil.

Back in the day, I barely had screws in the VCR for obvious reasons, just a mechanical nightmare especially with rented tapes that have already gone through hell in other machines. Soon as DVD's became available at cheap enough price the machine went into storage and video tapes went straight into the bin. However, I knew the fragility of DVD and continued to store memories onto 8mm & hi8 tapes until I tried Sony's MultiMediaCard, but turns out tapes were more trustworthy then mmc cards !! and eventually I did jump over to Sdcards and never looked back as they proved to be trustworthy then both MMC & Tape. Also, I'm not 100% sure on this. But, I believe that Disney had used these lazy box companies to transfer one of their own film reels over to digital as I was watching disney with the kids and noticed the show looked as if were filmed off projection screen with audio + video sync issues with constant vertical roll and heavy jitter. I bet nobody is monitoring the broadcast either let alone the transfer. I guess not even Disney can afford to properly transfer their own stuff, despite being $201.65 billion company.

Dude! Thanks for sharing! I watch docs and such of transfers and cringe.

Please please please tell me that you charge them extra for having to do all that. Curious how much.

Of course! $75-$500, depending on severity, if it’s got sticky shed syndrome & the record speed.

You have a bunch of camcorders that need cleaning and / or repair. LOL. The normal person doesn't understand the repair costs and finding rare parts to repair. Thanks
@gotmemories8 күн бұрын
They don’t! Parts are rare and $$ and don’t get me started on labor!
