One thing is for sure, that Beautiful car will alwys be fixed, what a Beauty to Behold, quite a Show ! I felt sorry for the owner ! The sense of disappointment was palpalable !

A tad embarrassing for the poor guy. But what an absolute beauty of a car. At first I thought it was a Lagonda, but when the camera homed in on the vehicle saw that it was a Bentley. Having googled it discovered the coachbuilder was Vanden Plas - I remember a Vanden Plas Princess back when I was considerably younger!

Shame the owner didn't let the bloody mechanic drive the thing... owners rarely know enough to fill the tank with petrol! And that REME wrecker was a bit ov overkill. Though if he had a pair of soft shackles, he could have hooked to the frame where the front springs are, and gently lifted her for a tow. Not enough people carrying them these days, despite them being VERY useful.

What a shame for the owner of the old Bentley, did sound like the spark was weak and from the many attempts to fire it up probably needs a new starter now. Still he gave all around a nice show of a vintage Bentley. Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘❤❤❤❤

In case you didn’t notice every where is segregated by barriers as it was part of a small parade so no it can’t be pushed out of the way besides pushing a car like that does it more harm than good

Not quite the pukka Bentley that first impressions might create : The radiator suggests it is one of the 1931 4 litre models , created as a last ditch attempt by the accountants at Bentley Motors to remain solvent. Its registration details reveal that it is ineed a 4 litre model, the first of which were delivered in early 1931 , so strictly speaking it is not a vintage vehicle, but PVT. It is fitted with the 3915cc sidevalve Ricardo engine which was extensively reworked by the Bentley works throughout 1930 to include a redesigned cylinder head incorporating overhead valves . The unsold stock of Bentley 8 litre chassis were shortened and fitted with these Ricardo engines which put out around 130 hp on a good day : this 4 litre model was badly received owing to its lack of power in comparison to its larger siblings , and only served to hasten the end of Bentley Motors. Around 50 were built during 1931:Those who lift the bonnet of a 4 litre model, expecting to see an edifice of engineering excellence are in for a great disappointment :Though some 4 litre models have survived intact , several had original larger capacity WO Bentley engines retro fitted, and many were subsequently converted, post war ,into racing specials using more potent power units:

Sounds like fuel problem. Upgrade pump & filter. Filter housing probably became porous too. Many mechanics write off the actual fuel filter housing which perishes over time allowing air into the fuel system weakening fuel mixture.

This is a 1930 4 litre Bentley, made just before W O Bentley went bust and was bought out by Rolls-Royce. It has a Ricardo engine, so is not a thoroughbred Bentley, in spite of being built by the W O Bentley Co. Its value is much lower. This car appear to have had a body transplant, probably to make it look like something it really isn't. I would never drive any old car in a slow moving parade.
