Thank you…Neighbor (literally) I recorded this back when I first developed my kits and decided to shoot the video after working a 16hr shift (I’m a nurse by trade) and I was a little punchy and overtired so thigh balls hit me funny. You make it seem so easy. I bought a UK sellers version of this kit. The neck hook went into my forefinger earlier this evening as I was trying to restring an Action Man. I don't know why I bothered trying this method.

One of my kits from a UK seller? I sell directly on eBay. I have no middle men or exporters. What happened Sounds painful! My kits are pre measured and I make them to be a simple install - so if I make it look easy it’s because they are made that way. If it was a knock off version of my kit I can’t answer to how they are made. I have heard of people at conventions even here in the states making “bootleg” versions of my kit, and even calling them Floppy Joe kits and copying my header cards. Best way to get an authentic kit is to buy them directly from me.

Got my kit today and did my first restring job ever ! It was pretty scary cutting the old 1967 bungie and taking him apart. I got it together BUT: this is Not was easy as shown in the video. The bungies in the kit are Tight (tighter than in the vid) and it was quite a struggle to get the nail in. Plus Apparently one shoulder hook was missing but I was able to make do with a big paper clip. I got in done in about an hour and with my nurse wife’s help. To novices- I’d suggest you take your time. It can be done, but I’m sending any more of mine out for repair. Just my preference.

Edward Kohout Hi there. I’m sorry you had trouble installing the kit. I don’t include arm hooks with my kits. I do include a small S hook which is used as a spacer to allow extra room (to prevent tightness) in the arm bungee and to prevent Zombie arms. Where you lift one arm the other one follows. This information is also in my products description on eBay. The reason I’ve never included the extra arm hardware is because a lot of people just use hog clips or like what you said paper clips to replace missing arm hooks it also allows me to keep my cost down to less than $10 a kit which collectors have requested over the years. It also allows me which is a one-man company to be able to compete with the string kits prices that come out of China which places like Costwold Collectibles sells. Again sorry you had issues with your install but I’m always available if anyone that does buy my kits and has a question. Marshall Made Collectibles my dad and I had some trouble with it, we snapped the original neck post but used one of the parts from this kit to replace it, those arm clips were very useful to hold the arms, my dad and I decided to bend all the hooks to keep everything in place for good, the figure still needs parts before he’s back in action but with that kit I am one step closer to having a medic for my GI Joes

Sgtlott 10 with the kits I include 2 Little S hooks. These are to be used to prevent Zombie arms. Where you lift one arm the other will follow. Most people that use my kits don’t use them at all or others just use 1, if you are finding your arms are too loose with the hoop bungee installed, just drop to one S hook or don’t use either of them. You will find the arms will be very secure after that point. Thanks for your question.

One of my joes I bought off eBay were only the parts held together by elastic, no head, only thighs shoulders torso ball joins and such no elbows forearms hands it only had the neckpost so basically what you can take off without breaking the elastic, well when it came I was everything was rusty and rotting but it was tightly held together... today the leg just fell off so I got one of these kits off eBay and can’t wait for it to come in! I’ll tell you the results when it comes in

Marshall Made Collectibles should I worry about the very rusted hooks for the head and arms?

Sgtlott 10 I included a head hook just pull the bungee through with a “pull through tool” before hooking it. The new hooks are meant to be used to pull the cord through the body. Honestly if you have the original hooks (head and arms) I would take steel wool to them and see if you can remove the surface rust from them and bring them back to life. If your needing replacement arm hooks you can use hog clips which are $1-2 for 50 from places like Lowe’s or Home Depot or in a pinch you can actually cut a 📎 paper clip and use it. I don’t include replacement arm hooks but you will receive 2 small “s” hooks which most of my customers don’t use but I include them to prevent Zombie arms. Which keeps the opposite arm from lifting when you raise the other arm. You can use 1 or both depending on the tightness you want between the arms. I don’t include arm hooks to keep the cost of my Made in the USA 🇺🇸 kits down and below $10 each. Which allows my company to compete with prices from those kits that come out of China. Which personally I found to be garbage and the reason I created my kits. Take care and stay safe. Jase

ingenious design on the body string with the inclusion of hooks for the legs. I severely wish the part for restringing arms would have come with the new hooks already attached. Getting the original 64 - 76 hooks on is pretty much impossible

victor flores thanks brother that might be something I address in a later design. I have revamped and made a better stainless steel head hook then my original design. I've had success with the bicep hooks by putting them on the arm string before threading them through the body. Still I agree with your comment - it is the hardest part of re-stringing a figure. I know a lot of people say I made it look easy but my kits make it pretty easy and fool proof. I'm thrilled how well accepted my kits have become. Do you have to make the hole bigger in the shoulder because this bungee and the metal clip where it keeps it together does not go thru the hole?

No, you can literally push it through, but if the shoulder hole is too small push the clamp part through fist by itself. If that still is an issue as some molds have extremely small shoulder hole, before attaching the legs you can feed the arm bungie through the hole in the bottom of the torso before adding the pelvis and legs. Once fed through the bottom of the torso just use your “pull through” tool to attach one arm and then pull it through the opposite side to add the tension and attach the other arm. I have bought about 6 kits off ebay. I have no idea how to get the arms attached to the cord. I have watched this video several times, and I think they have changed the loops to attach the arms. Mine do NOT reach into the crevice to reach the pin to hook onto. I have tried several times. not attaching, the metal arm "s" is simply too short. I can do the legs easily. But the arms? Can you offer some advice or help> I even tried leaving the factory loops on the arm and attaching to them, but to no avail. What gives> ?

I wish you sent me the shoulder hooks you used in this video. The ones I have are very small and I’ve been working at it a couple of days (probably 3-4 hours total) and no success. And they seems like paper clips rather than stainless steel. I was able to connect the legs to the torso and the head with no problem because I had the original Hasbro hook.

The hooks I used in the video were the original hardware. I don’t include shoulder hooks. As in my highlighted description on eBay the little S hooks I do include are spacers. You can use them for the arm bungee or the leg bungee if you believe either is too tight for your figure. Some people will use them in conjunction with the arm band to prevent zombie arms, where one arm rises the one on the opposite side follows. Sorry you tried to used them as shoulder hooks that had to be nearly impossible. If you have to replace the thigh bars on a GI Joe how do you flatten the end of the bar? DO you just gentle tap it with a hammer to flatten it?

I have a rivet spanner that will flare the ends. But you have to cut out the old rivets and use new ones to replace the old. That’s why with my kits you don’t have to mess with them at all. 👍🏻
