My grandma, born 1903, used to sing this. So I grew up singing it, as a child in the 1960s. Wish I had someone to pass it on to. Sadly, this singer missed out the verses and only sang the chorus.

Well done Emma , brought back lots of memories. My younger brother is called Tony and used to get this sung to him by my aunts and uncles , he hated it , he much preferred my song , which was " The ballad of Davy Crocket "

Yes I have Florries CD.s and she Cheers me up like she did everyone Inc soldiers marchingvoff to war! I have written a film script, the story of her life, song, wonderful vaudeville, pantomime and music hall stars incredible wonderful people. Forrie is my father's, mother's elder sister. B. Melbourne 1875 they grew up in excellent Theatrical Costumers Shop., Bourke St. Melbourne. It's a long story.. She left for England 1897. I must get the Synopsis on the mobile so you can all see.
