Rob Halford is, was, and always shall be, one of the greatest metal frontmen of all time. "Living After Midnight" would be my nomination for your next JP song. P.S. Please give Radiohead another try. You won't regret it. Jay did "Creep" in the very first week and didn't like it, but you haven't given them a second chance. "Fake Plastic Trees" or "Karma Police" will blow your minds.

💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 both with the Livin After Midnight and giving Creep another chance. Not only has Jay's appreciation of different kinds of music evolved over the course of the channel, but not only has Amber's appreciation grown as well, but I REALLY think she'll get the angst and the longing in it.

Judas Priest is one of the oldest, still touring, metal bands with 53 years and counting. I saw them four years ago, twice, for the tour of their latest album Firepower. They were supposed to celebrate their 50th year but then covid, so last year, a couple of years late, they did that. Another great song is Living After Midnight.

Lead singer Rob Halford is an LGBTQ icon. After decades of concealing his sexuality for fear of backlash, he finally felt safe coming out in the late 90s and thankfully was embraced rather than rejected. He jokes that it was always open in his lyrics and dress but since he was in a metal band ppl assumed he was a typical womanizing rock star and never picked up on the hints he was discretely dropping. A true legend, on stage and off. Glad you guys liked them :)
@michaelpennington93272 жыл бұрын
Judas Priest is great. The guitar duo of Glen Tipton and KK Downing set the standard for dual guitar attacks. I was lucky enough to see them multiple times in different stages of their career and they were always great. Rob Halford has a couple solo albums that rock, too. You really need to listen to Y&T. I’ve been telling you about them for months. I promise you will love them. They aren’t copies of Judas Priest, but they definitely are the same genre and have the same vibe. If you love Breaking The Law, you’ll love the Y&T songs Mean Streak, Black Tiger, Hang ‘em High, Forever, Open Fire and Many, many others. Please, please, please listen to Y&T

But I always listened to other music and never stuck to just one type. In my early years I also listened to: all of the British invasion bands...all of the Motown acts...all of the Folk acts...all of the Punk...and even, yes, Disco, Pop, Country, and Soft Rock. I wanted to hear it all, even though I had a 'Go to' preference. Mood depending of course.
