My first reaction was NO WAY! when you started putting the wood ornaments thru the xyron. I am mainly a card maker and like the look of foiling. But don’t want to invest in a hot foil machine and all the special dies. My mind is full of the possibilities! Will definitely be playing with my xyron this afternoon. Hi! Have you tried the glue stick and tissue? What you do is….glue stick the wooden letters or I did it on the wooden lights from DT. And you place the tissue paper on the glue. Tear excess from around the decor and while the glue is still damp lightly burn the edges around and in the holes. I do it outside and hold it with a pair of locking pliers. The paper burns , but not where the glue stick is still wet. That’s why you try to tear away most of the edges. It really is dangerous, but if you are careful, you’ll end up with a beautiful edge. I made a mermaid and torn different colors and layered them so when it burned the edges it was sort of mosaic. Let me know if you’ve ever tried it.
