Found this thru Unforgotten, thankfully, as it's a beautiful song. As a survivor of severe pain for many years it resonates with me. But I'd like to remind others that we do more than hide away. We hold on to hope. Hope and trying new ways can be the path to healing. If healing isn't possible, acceptance and finding a place where you are can be huge. Don't mean to preach. The girl was a popular girl and pretty. 30 years later I’m popular and kind.. I was walking through my town centre and I saw a woman looking aged, sad and emptying the bins in the local street.. I realised who it was. She smiled at me.. I smiled back. I don’t know if she recognised me.. maybe in some level a part of her did. But I saw a profound sadness in her.. she was deeply unhappy. Here we are folks Christmas 2020.. why are you here?
