There is something so dynamic, so magical, about the way these two voices work so well together. They don't entirely meld together, norbdo they compete against each other. It's like a carefully choreographed, hauntingly beautiful ballet where they dance carefully with each other. Even in the crescendo they're still complimentary of one another.

Your discussion at the end gave me a new insight. If I could describe what they’re doing vocally, and I wouldn’t have said this earlier, it is containment. Through all of the emotional turmoil, and through the cascading emotions, they are keeping all of it contained. And I mean this in a healthy way. It isn’t repression or restricting, it’s keeping things at a simmer without letting their emotions boil over into the place where rash decisions are made that can alter the trajectories of the lives around us. Yeah, containment. I know this because it is one of my life’s struggles, to keep things contained, rather than strewn all about. Internally and in my external spaces as well This song, for me at least, is about containment
