For me the personal highlights of the song for me are the medusa snake hair at 0:46, the snake rattle at 0:50 and throughout the song, the "I can't cover my eyes" move at 2:35 by JiU, the snake bite ripple at 4:03 and ofc the abrupt end when they turn into stone. Medusa references are so well played.

@@ChainReactionsChannel Speaking of concept queens, some items to add to the must see list: Demian Special Clip, choreo done by SuA, song based on the Hermann Hesse novel Demian from 1919, depicting the inner battle of the protagonist between the light and the shadow side, the one that is visible to the public and the one that is our true self. Unfortunately the special clip has no sub, so a color coded run is also needed to fully get the song. BEcause title track, standalone title track about a toxic relationship , super complex M/V, where the inner love craving aspect of a human is portrayed as a doppelganger taking over the control, and the whole M/V is based on the horror movie "US" by Jordan Peele about doppelgangers even recreating still images from the movie. Most people never get this deep to get the true meaning but most dreamcatcher title tracks go really deep in the story telling.

@@ChainReactionsChannel Note on the choreo since you mentioned it a few times. Both the song and the dance have references to Medusa ("I think I turn into the stone") which is why there's a lot of snake like movements and rippling effects. I love when groups include stuff like this in their choreo.

Pink hair Gahyeon supremacy!!! She's done 2 eras now as pink Boca and OOTD. Pretty sure you got everyone correct. Just gets really hard when you back to their debut years (2017-2018). Sua and Siyeon look very similar. Than there is the triplets (what I like to call them when new people are discovering them) JiU, Handong and Yoohyeon. During BEcause era (Summer 2021) Handong and Yoohyeon even got themselves mixed up when looking at their photocards and their moms even mixed them up (they were both blonde). Imo, Shatter is one of their best choreos. For some more B-Side Choreo check out 'Red Sun' and 'Demian'. SuA did the choreography for both (warning, anything SuA choreographs tends to be... uhh.... sensual/sexy).

I don't need to say anything about Gahyeon I think I made my feelings pretty clear! 😅 I'm sure I will make some mistakes with the names but I'll do my best lol. The changing hair colors does mess me up with these groups, especially when members change to a color a different member previously used. First, you got all the names right. You seem to be struggling with Gahyeon so here it is; Gah-yun. That's the easiest way to explain it. Second, yes, Dreamcatcher MV's tend to come in groups. Here's a quick-ish breakdown. The Nightmare Series, a dark story about a group of school girls who were cursed and turned into Nightmares. Chase Me (DC's debut) Good Night (Chase Me part 2) Fly High (prequel to Chase Me / Good Night) What You and I Piri Note: These are best viewed in release order as they tell a running story. The Dystopia Trilogy, a commentary on bullying (including cyber bullying), have speech and the dark side of the internet and social media. Scream Boca (Spanish for mouth) Odd Eye Note: While these all share a common theme they do not tell a specific story. As such you don't necessarily have to watch them in order. The Apocalypse Trilogy, a commentary on how we are destroying our planet. Maison (French for home / house) Vision Bon Voyage Stand alone releases, not part of a series. Deja Vu Rose Blue BEcause Then there's the plethora of b-sides, solos, covers (both song and dance), dance practices and so much more. And speaking of dance practices, every title track MV except one has a dance practice that goes with it. Fly High does not, but there is a performance video available. There are also performance videos for numerous other tracks as well.

Quick rundown on names: all the vowels are ee, oo, or ah except Dong so jee-yoo, soo-ah, she-yawn, hahn-dong, dah-mee, yoo-hyawn and gah-hyawn. The hardest part for English speakers is usually the yawn and hyawn sounds are distinctive in Korean but we're not used to them. Just use a comfortable breathieness for Gahyeon and no breath for Siyeon (Sihyeon is a member of Everglow).

The siren call is indeed Yoohyeon. It's fair to call her a co-main vocal in the group, her breath support is levels above other members which allows her to do THAT. A mix of Gahyeon problems, angel vocals, power, and good old-fashioned rock horror is their BEcause music video.

Welcome new inSomnia. Great Reaction. I enjoy watching people discover Dreamcatcher and their journey to becoming inSomnia. I watched your last DC videos and saw that you appreciated the choreography. OOTD was good and Shatter has very sensual chore, Both are great, but if I'm to be honest, neither are the most difficult choreography DC has in their Repertoire. If I may suggest, as you discover their other songs, to check out their dance practice videos along with the title tracks. There is a Dance Practice video for every title track except for "Fly High" I'm sure you won't be disappointed. 🤘🙂👍

Totally understandable. I am OT7 and have been for a while. I can't possibly put any one of them 'above' the rest, nobody is any more important than anybody else. They each have talents they are better than the other members at. They are all individuals. I treat every group like that BUT there are exceptions for every rule. So, this era, Gahyeon has really wrecked me. I really thought it would be Siyeon, Hand Dong or Yoohyeon this time but it turned out that Gahyeon with Pink Hair just totally has ONE objective, which is to kill me.

Baby InSomnia or not, I'm just glad you decided to come to the Dreamworld. Welcome. I became curious about this group because at that time, they were the only ones doing what they were doing. I had already been listening to Kpop but this was something so different; good different. I cannot STAND cute concepts, preferring music with teeth and fire and blood and this group was it. 7 years later they are still going strong, doing dark and creepy better than anyone. This kind of music wasn't popular then, and although other groups have come out like Pixy and Pink Fantasy that have done it, it's still not as popular as more girl crush or cute concepts. These girls stand alone. OOTD was actually my least favorite on this album, 'Rising' being my favorite. 'Shatter' comes in at a very close second, though. The references to the myth of Medusa are threaded throughout, from the snakes behind Jiu's head in the beginning to the lyrics referencing the lamenting of being turned to stone to Siyeons abrupt ending. She isn't able to finish the lyrics because she herself fell under Medusa's gaze. This group's production team is really quite gifted in what they do, their music running the gambit in styles. Jiu had once said that Dreamcatcher was like a black hole, once you fall in, you can't get out. You have a long way to go. I'm sure you will enjoy it and look forward to more reactions.

I know I haven't gotten to anything before this era but I fully plan to - they are a unique group and like you said they have a concept that really appeals to my existing interests (I am a metal fan but I also just like dark/tough/experimental vibes).
