Hack 1 The foundation and powder hack worked very well in my opinion! I didn't really see much of a shade difference with the powder. Plus, you skin did look more matte with the powder mixed with the foundation after the wear test. 😍😍😍😍😍 Hack 2 The second hack was a TOTAL fail! It looked TERRIBLE! It was a cakey, flaky mess! ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️ Thanks for the AWESOME video and for trying out hacks so we don't have to! 😂😂😂😂😂

Exactly! I don't mind an obviously "done" eye or lip, even a well applied glam cheek, but I never want people to see my complexion products as visible makeup! I'm 53 & I am glad there are products and content for everyone, but I wish there were more "natural skin" creators in the 50+ group. Half get so much surgery/fillers/paralytics that they look odd, the other half are heavy-duty full coverage girlies, and it just makes the face look very tired and uncomfortably dry.

The side with the powder literally looks like you were doing stage makeup for yourself. Like it looks like the makeup you would use for theater because it's SO contrasting and flat.

My brain tells me that adding powder to foundation and mix it in, will only make it thicker. The powder litterally takes some of the moisture away from the foundation formula. That is why people use powders on top of concealer on the face, to make sure the liquidy product gets locked in asap; you want the top to be settled as it is. When it moves, it's going to crease your concealer. The powder will also fill in any gaps as it layers on top, that's why you get that poreless flat look. So foundation + powder = dryer/thicker foundation. With too much powder, it will eventually look flakey on the face because there will be too little moisture for the foundation itself and the powder left. A Tiny amount should be fine though if you want to thicken your product up.

I've tried it once and haven't noticed a difference. First heard about it through Ale Jay. I agree that less is more. I'm just too lazy to try it that way when I can just set with powder later.

I use this hack with a clear/ translucent powder. I apply it directly to my face, never thought about mixing it with my foundation. Thanks for the tip.

I agree about using a darker powder with the foundation. I didn't like the concealer with powder. I have drier under eye areas and I get that already if I don't prep right.
