PTS for WOWS seems more like for infra testing then gameplay, a fire drill test for the patch process both for the game and the servers, before they do the same process for their production servers.

I think it's real funny how you calculate your chances when your the last one standing, and all that time you are assuming the Montana player is of equal caliber, and then he steams around the corner with his guns pointing to the left, right after you finish capping the cap circle to his right...

I think the Montana was expecting Flolo to run from combat cuz that's just what people do now. So, giving the Monty a lot of benefit of doubt, he was probably assuming Flolo went wide on B to circle to A from the north. That's why his guns were aimed to the left. He basically assumed he's fighting a coward, who'd flee from battle

@@sozetsukokai9327 Nah, if you look at the last place Flamu was spotted, A-B / 5-6 area, and the last spotted location of the Montana, and you draw a straight line between them, then the Montana had to go practically through the islands that he came through when Flamu opened fire on him. He didn't think to turn of AA, he never used his own depth charges for spotting AA fire, he didn't once realize Flamu had been in the B cap circle for a minute straight. Hes just that special snowflake, on the public test server.

I agree with overmatch, the worst thing they implemented into the game, the worst part is you get a good cruiser player showing perfect angle and he gets blapped then you get a potato showing full broadside and you get overpens and he surivives lol

In my experience on NA, if the average player in randoms is a 50 WR player, the average player on PTS plays like a 40 WR player. It is astounding anything on PTS can be considered relevant data.

Judging on how they all die like flies, am curious to know how WG can extract valuable datas from PTS since all these years… just look like they all want to show broadside and die as soon as they can. Lol

10:44 To be fair 'overmatch' is not a mechanic or something that was just 'added'; It is the behavior of an object too heavy to be stopped by too little armor to put it simply. For example, A shell may carry through armor regardless of angle since the shell in question simply could not stop fast enough. If you were to simulate a shell stopping from a small piece of armor it would seem to stop instantaneously or very obviously unnaturally move left/right from the armor ignoring previous momentum. WoWs is not a realistic game by any means however shells simply stopping from small pieces of geometry would cause many issues with how they react to superstructure as well.

overmatch would be fine if they just stopped coming up with these imaginary 457-510mm gun ships. The US never had guns larger than 406s and frankly that was better for the game. now days you either need to play Russian or Italian cruisers and if you don't you are suffering.

What are you on about? Pretty sure nobody's questioning the science of it. Obviously we're talking about overmatch as in game mechanics. Whether it is a real thing or not WG can simply make it go away by buffing the armor or not introducing huge guns. It was okay when Yamato was pretty much the only one who can overmatch but now it's crazy.

Overmatch is dumb yes, but so it is also stupid that an angled cruiser can shred your BB with their improved pen angles while you deal minimal damage to them. Try Verdi vs. most cruisers 1 on 1. Ton of straight penetration on the shell, but bounces or overpens all day.

Im sick of my shells straddling targets or flying just over them, it feels like the game is aiming against me, and when I do hit…. Over pen at 13+ km if not bounces…. For which ever shells do hit. I love watching enemy shells track me in the air and taking out my guns, only for my return fire to bounce off theirs… it’s like I play a different game

imo, overmatch is okay if the ship that can do that is limited (only 2-3 ships).. the problem is, WG keep adding new overmatching BBs so they're just overpopulate the MM so bad

I finally cut the cord: after years of on off gaming, I just uninstalled WoWS and the launcher. Here's a tid bit that made me laugh and typified the experience we've had with WG. When I uninstalled, it game me a questionnaire. I filled it out, including an extra bit of text under "other". It failed to accept it. I tried shortening the text. Nope. Removed any symbols. Nope. Hilarious! Even when you are pushed to stop playing, they won't listen to you! I, like many, are fed up with Wargaming it's continuously aggravating decisions and intractability when petitioned for change.

May main goal its clan wars, just to have a ship to use in events, since most of them require T9 ships above. ​@@j71177even against DD, I'd still use AP with satsuma though. Heck in most BBs that have large caliber, I usually don't bother to change to HE. The damage is not different against DD and I risk missing a chance to devstrike a bigger ship.

If I could change how BB's work Id make all BB guns except Yamato overmatch until 27 again. So in the 400mm range, but then also buff their accuracy by a bit so cruisers can't just bowtank. TL;DR I rather have accuracy than overmatch. Yamato should stay unique in that.

Question for Flamu - I know you rage a lot how bad people are at this game, and I get it. I've been playing for 2 months and my question is: how do you get better, I've watched countless video of great performances and despite understanding the logic behind it, there is no way for a new player to know when, how and when not to execute those tactics. Ofc this isn't a yes or no question, but why get mad at people for being shit - when the game itself doesn't teach you anything at all. And yes, I'm complete dogshit at the game, don't worry I know.

When Flamu looks up profiles of bad players after a match, I've seen him give players who were obviously new to the game or with very few battles under their belts a pass for being bad due to their lack of experience. It's the players who still play badly after having played thousands of games he gets really mad at, and understandably so, imho. You ask how you get better? Well, in my opinion it takes 3 things: 1) understanding of game mechanics. 2) understanding what different ships/ship classes are capable of. 3) pattern recognition. All these things take time, patience, honest analysis of what you did right and wrong in a match and ultimately experience to develop. As a player who has been with this game for a few years with a roughly one year break in between let me just give you this one advice: Do not do what I did after my break and spend a lot of time playing coop battles. In fact, avoid coop battles as much as you can, because they teach you bad habits that will totally ruin your performance against real players. Unless you just want to drive ships around and shoot stuff in easy mode with no care about anything else, of course. But in that case I'd advise you to play Operations, because that's a more rewarding "vs bots" game mode, I think.

Its PTS. You have instant access to all tech tree ships, which includes Supers. Many people use PTS to try out ships/lines while doing the PTS missions for rewards on the live server. So youll see a TON of supers in matches and complete potatoes piloting them.

Don't sleep on Ohio guns Flamu, some Hipper did last night and I sent him packing. Also, overmatch isn't dumb, yeah he was angled but you gotta remember, those are 18 inch guns, the shells gotta fuse on something going through that much ship. But overmatch plays in with physics. It is like complaining about a bullet going through aluminum, you got a ship firing massive shells with penetration values far exceeding the broadside armor value of a cruiser, of course it is gonna overpen, there isn't enough time for the shell to fuse. You can hate it all you want, but that is physics. It is the same reason why you don't shoot AP at destroyers, they are overpen magnets cause they are too narrow to activate the fuse on an AP shell, yet people assume the same for cruisers, yeah you hit the citadel on a Salem, but that only counts when the shell fuse ignites. 18 inch shells are too large a cut straight through before the fuse arms. When the Salem angled, it meant your shells had more ship to travel through. More ship = more time for the fuse to arm and detonate the shell, which is what happened, the shells had enough time to arm once they had made it to the citadel.
