A once thriving railroad town boasting five main line railroads and the infamous Locomotive Works, Lima is a far cry from what it used to be at the turn of the 20th century. Today, the busiest line in town is the former Baltimore & Ohio, now CSX's Toledo Sub. Genesee & Wyoming properties operate the former PRR and DT&I trackage, RJ Corman works the western portion of the Erie Lackawanna and Norfolk Southern operates locals on the old Nickel Plate.
A few days after Christmas, I spent a day in Lima, documenting the various movements seen throughout the day. The I&O and C&FE remained active for most of the morning and we close the day with some CSX through freights.
