TOSU's offense these past two games look more like a Ryan Day offense than a Chip Kelly offense. I'm know expert but Sarkisian's and Day's offenses almost appear mirror images of each other. At any rate I think they are two of the top offensive minds in college foitball.
@chrisNkyla118 сағат бұрын
These past two games didn't look like Ryan Day or Chip Kelly who both run mostly zone scheme. This looked a lot more like Mike Norvell's offense when he was at Florida State. Guess who was a staffer on that team? Carlos Locklyn, the Buckeyes running backs coach. Coincidence? They ran about 50% gap scheme counter against Oregon. Even both of Smith's touchdowns came against counter play action. Counter is a much easier scheme to block with a make shift o-line. For perspective, before the playoffs, Ohio State ran about 10% counter. Defensively, they lined up Hancock, the slot corner, at free safety and stuck Downs right in the middle about 10 to 12 yards off the ball to play backyard football. It allowed him to come down hill in run support unblocked, and diagnose and latch on to short routes across the middle. They've made brilliant changes on both sides of the ball.

I think it’s borderline disrespectful that so many analysts and talking heads are asking if he can be good enough in this game. Here’s something that no one has brought up… Quinn ewers knows right now that if Texas is defeated by Ohio State he may be a second or third round pick in the pros and may very well come back and play another year and another college to get his draft stock higher… but what if Texas would win over OSU? That would mean Texas would be in the final game for the championship and whether Texas won the game or didn’t win the game. He would still probably be considered a first round Choice at quarterback if he gets him to the final championship game… so, Quinn Ewers has more to win or lose the Texas winning so if he’s ever had a big game this is it in his career… Let’s see how it all pans out…
@chrisNkyla118 сағат бұрын
We could say the same thing about Will Howard who is fighting to raise his draft stock. However, I will give Ewers the revenge game mentality as well since he transferred from Ohio State on not so good terms.

I’m sorry but Texas is by far the most overrated team in the country. 11-2 while being the only SEC team ever to avoid playing bama, Tennessee, LSU, ole Miss, South Carolina or mizu. 0-2 to a pretty mid Georgia team. Squeaked through the playoff against 2 teams that weren’t even in the top 11. They’re going to get exposed and as an SEC fan I want to put it on record that we DO NOT claim them as an SEC team as they have yet to beat a team inside the top 8 of the SEC. 🤣

Is the fake UT alum crying about being spanked? Yeah I ageee Texas does not look that great against Ohio state , has had some questionable performances, and lucked out with scheduling with this year. But do you really think if OU joined the sec this year and had the same results Texas has had that the media wouldn’t be all over them either? It’s not about the brand recognition it’s about the results produced on the field and whether you come out with W or L. Texas has happened to do that in their first year . Waiting for Tennessee to do it consistently and for A&M and OU to do it at all everyone in the SEC but bama and Georgia deserve to eat and see success. Til those are reality enjoy your salty tears wins count far more than brands and any salty fan knows that . Why would we ever know about the “brand” of Indiana or SMU football this year if that was not the case? Best of luck next season put the dagger in bama and Georgia for us please 🙏

@bkirk051019 сағат бұрын
@@TheMidnightHighway Texas struggled against Vanderbilt, ASU, and lost to UGA, twice. Best regular season win was the 9th place SEC team. Penn State is a playoff team so beating them in the regular season by a TD isn't some type of knock against OSU like you think it is. Texas defense has played like ass in the playoffs. 55 points and 900+ yards to Clemson and ASU and more passing yards allowed in those two games than OSU allowed in total yards against TN and Oregon combined.

when you look at these teams Texas hasn’t looked great at any point besides when they played Michigan this year, Texas has to be able to run the football and they have to win the turnover battle. with that being said Ohio State by either 14 or 21ish they go out there and play their game no team will beat them.

@Foggydidwhat22 сағат бұрын
@@fpsdoug7081 I hear you. Ewers is a veteran that is going to be a field general and has big game experience since this is the second consecutive season he led Texas to the playoff (so he is the safe, experienced QB1). Arch Manning is the quarterback that is a media darling because of his name. Other than specific third and short read option packages for arch since he is more mobile, would you actually want him to be QB1 for multiple consecutive drives in a close game if Ewers is healthy and good to go?
