I feel like I'm the only person who remembers that in the Clemson game, Texas was missing 1 OL and during the game, 3 others got injured. They played ASU with out one of their 1st round graded tackles and the other was the one who missed the previous game. Not saying, at all, that OSU can't stop them. But they'll at least get the whole of the Texas line.

I don't know a lot about this TX team. Running against OSU I can tell you is difficult. If you are made into a 1 dimensional offense, it will be a difficult day for TX. My only question is if OSU can rush well enough against TX to be balanced. Like most games, it comes down to the trenches, and in close games, it comes down to special teams and mistakes like turnovers. People keep looking at the Michigan OSU game and think there is a formula there that can work. There isn't. If you watch the game, OSU never threw downfield in that game. The offense was never opened up, no hurry up offense. In this game, I am very comfortable and happy being a fan of the Scarlet and Gray.

OSU didn’t throw it against Michigan for a reason, that Michigan has the best defensive back in college football will Johnson, the other guys are physical, OSU didn’t forget to pass they just felt they throwing may not be the best way to attach them and let’s face it will Howard isn’t known for his pure passing abilities he’s a good athlete but not an elite passer that’s why k state had moved on from him, Texas has the Thorpe award winner in Barron and manny Muhammad , taafe and hard hitting safety makuba, OSU isn’t gonna get those easy looks like they did vs Oregon, asu stacked 8 in the box to stop the run but Ewers threw for 322 yards, Texas roster is just as big and fast as OSU, OSU may have the talent advantage but not by a big gap, these are two heavy weights and it should be a close game this will best roster OSU has faced all year, OSU o line is decent but not great OSU fans will admit this ,Texas d line and pass rushers should have the advantage, will Howard is 0-4 vs Texas and he will turn it over when you heat him up and hit him a few times he will play fast as he has done in the prior 4 games vs Texas.

I don’t get why people fixate on the 33 pass attempts, the effort to throw the ball downfield was not there like it has been in the Playoffs. A lot if that was because Michigan is so good on defense, but Day and Kelly seemed too stubborn to run anything but short passing game within 5-10 yards of the LOS.

Good luck Ohio State. The two best teams in the country show down Friday. Everyone has OSU big, that may be what happens, but I suspect a competitive game that is decided in the 4th quarter unless someone has a meltdown. I think field position and field goal accuracy will be a factor in this game. I also think the winner will be the team that stops the run more effectively. If the game gets out of hand, I bet turnovers have something to do with it. These are the two best secondaries in the country. The QBs are good, but if they feel they need to force it to catch up, I can see it become pick city. OSU 27 - Texas 24 Good luck and HookEm!

Nope. The 2 best teams were Oregon and Ohio State. Most analysts have said that for most of the year. Ohio State is better than Oregon, and should have probably won the first match up in Eugene. No one in the SEC is any good this year. That's right, I said it. Illinois who was avg beat South Carolina in the bowl season. Michigan dominated Alabama. Ohio St beat Tennessee. Illinois was just average this year; can't believe they beat South Carolina who many SEC apologists said should have been considered for the Championship Playoffs. This will be an All-Big 10 national title game, Penn State v Ohio State.

Texas just needs to be close at the end of the 4th quarter to pull off a win. If OSU gets off to a fast start its game over. I think Texas has to play a man shell over Jeremiah, zone everywhere else & blitz off the edges heavy. Now Will can run obviously so they will have to worry about that inside that zone but better a slow death than an instantaneous one. Will probably turns it over a couple times but I think Quinn will also. What no one seems to be talking about is the Ohio State secondary they killed since 1st Oregon gm. Caleb will keep Quinn out of the middle of the field, his comfort zone imo. Toughest game yet for Ohio State but I think 4 pt win for Ohio State is a bit too low, Texas would have to play flawless for that to happen. 38-28 Ohio State, Treveyon, Quinshon & Egbuka go off.

I'm with you, but you have to put some respect on Vince Young's name. He was absolutely the best player on the field, that day. USC also had to respect the QB run on almost every play. I see Ohio State dropping back pretty frequently. For Texas to keep it close, Ewers HAS to take those 6-7 yard runs when they are there. That, in my opinion, is what will keep the defense off balance.

It’s more than 15% I also don’t think their general fanbase is smart about football. Very different from Texas fans who are very realistic and don’t talk smack. I have a dozen OSU friends who range on the scale of 1-10 as knowledgable football fans. The two things that they have in common is an irrational obsession with Michigan and an irrational entitlement (similar to LSU fans) to believe that they HAVE to win the national title every year or their coach is on the hot seat. If 15% are fanatical , I’d say another 65+% is unrealistic and wear scarlet & grey tainted glasses

I'll say this and tell it like it is - UT's offense sucks right now. They have NOT been playing well on a consistent basis and if they don't in this game, it will be over by the 2nd or 3rd quarter. Texas has a tremendous amount of talent and are not playing up to it on offense. OSU has a lot more talent than ASU - that's a fact! I have always said that Manning should be starting because of his talent and versatility - Ewers has little of that (versatility). He can't get out of bad situations and make a bad play a great play - Manning can. That is where UT made their biggest mistake; they should have stayed with Manning when Ewers got hurt. Of course we have to look at Auburn and his kicking issues - he's inacurate and might be a factor in this game if it's up to him - he has been terrible! Bottom line is that Texas' offense MUST have a great game or it's over folks - it's over fast! We have to be real and see the OSU is peaking at the perfect time and firing on all cylinders. Here's my prediction Score 34 - 17; OSU wins. I hope I am so wrong!! Gosh, I hope I didn't hurt anybody's feelings.....

I think even Michigan fans are perplexed by how Michigan won that game. Many of them have to wonder why Day let the ego trump winning in that game. Michigan would have used a Jeremiah Smith to win. To their credit, a team like Michigan plays to their strengths which is running the football and playing tough defense.

The thing about the ASU & UT game is Skettbo said ASU put it all out there. UT did not, they acutally played at the level to ASU. This is Texas now where they have to leave it all out there. Having nothing left to give. This is that game for UT. Now maybe to beat OSU which I doubt, they have to play them the say way they played Michigan, maybe that's all they need. I doubt it, but that may be all that's necessary. I know in every sport it's different. But in basketball in the playoffs I seen a team blow out another team in game 1 by 40 points and then lose the next 2 games. They looked unstoppable but lost the series. Anything can happen. It could be that way for UT vs OSU.
