The crazies thing is Day is the only HC coach in semi finals that has been their 4 times & he made it to title game in 2020, but lost to Alabama. All his previous year’s in playoff there was Sabin, Smart, Sweeney with more experience in the playoffs. I hope he takes that experience & they keep it up and win it all.

People easily forget that Ryan Day is a missed field goal and a horrendous fumble scoop and score called incomplete pass from having 1, possibly 2 Nattys. On top of playing in another one which Bama clearly was better against a sick and depleted Covid Buckeyes team.
@rickroth183619 күн бұрын
@ OSU was short handed against Alabama for sure. Justin Fields took a spearing shot to his ribs against Clemson, which hindered him against Alabama & second play of the game against Alabama Trey Sermon who rushed for 900 yard in three games leading up to the Alabama game, separated his shoulder the second play the game. That said, I still think Alabama wins that game it just might’ve looked like 42-35 instead of 52-24 with healthy Fields & our stud RB, it was just a really good Alabama team.

Our coaches had a careful game plan and didn't take advantage of turning Ohio States superior talent loose. Another example was when we lost to Missouri last year in a Bowl game. We had more five star and four star recruits on that team than Missouri has had in twenty years. Finally our coaches let our great athletes play fast and loose and what a difference. Born & bred Buckeye here. Beginning of the season, I really thought we were by far the most talented team in the country. But having watched Ryan Day seemingly not be able to coach that much talent over the years (and as you know Josh, it takes a special coach to handle that much talent), I was skeptical. After the 4th straight loss to that "team of north", I was more convinced than ever that Day HAD to win it all in order to keep his job, and I still believe that. When the bracket was released, I picked Texas to win it all. But as you stated, IF Day/Kelly continue to let these horses run the way they are capable of, NO ONE beats them. I think we see OSU/ND in the Final. I truly hate ND, but gotta give props to Marcus Freeman. The guy can coach!

And I feel that’s what Jeremiah Smith is doing this year. And look Smith is not of this world…..He is Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson…Or Mike Wick 99 overall in madden. And if you know those references they couldn’t be stopped. Two more…..two more games…I don’t care about the Michigan game…..I don’t care what they say about beating us this year…two more.

As an ND fan, Penn state looks damn good. But I've heard from a couple Penn state fans that they don't match up well with ND? Not sure how true that is. Either way, I think a close game goes ND's way and they lose to Ohio state in the chip game. We'll see though, go Irish!

10 years ago Ohio State physically dominated the Ducks in the natty. Everything Oregon has done the last 10 years has been in response to that, and it all led to this moment in this season. …and of course we run into Ohio State playing their best postseason ball in a decade. I'm gutted. I wish the Buckeyes well and know great years are ahead for the Ducks. It will not take a decade to be back in the hunt again.

@ Ohio state had a 21 day break because they lost to Michigan. Missing out on the big ten championship was punishment for losing the game. Oregon was “rewarded” for winning 13 games and a big ten championship. This season just proves college football is going in the wrong direction. Nothing that happens before December matters.

Hats off to the OSU corners, safeties, and LBs in pass coverage because most if not all of the 8 sacks against Oregon were coverage sacks. Gabriel had no where to go with the ball and held onto it too long while trying to make plays with his feet. Hopefully Ewers will do the same.

THE GAME WAS OVER in no form of reality was Oregon going to win that game and NO ONE not texas, not penn state, or Notre Dame going to beat OSU if they continue to play like they have in the play off thus far. I can understand before that. And I can understand if all you ever saw was TTUN and you don’t follow CFB. But how does someone like Pate make this “mistake” - again, specifically *after* Vols game?
