I’m old enough to remember when this band used to be laughed at and considered inferior to others, those now forgotten. But not Rush. I had to listen to your "Fly By Night" time stamp a couple times to spot it. It's very short. They essentially took the vocal melody and used it as a bridge to transition from one key to another. Very clever, but it's one of those "blink and you'll miss it" moments. Like the opening few seconds of drums that go right from "2112" into "The Spirit of Radio."

Yes. Rush formed in 68, as the announcer said, but Neil Ellwood Peart didn't join until 74. This made it the RUSH we know and love!

We here in OH have a habit of claiming Rush sometimes. It was a Cleveland radio station that put them on the map in the U.S., and we love to bring that up! 🤣 I had a buddy from FL who was excited to be marrying a CLE girl, b/c Rush was his favorite band. When he met my brother-in-law at my wedding, he was blown away by the fact that he looks just like a young Geddy Lee. It was a trip!

As a member of the Stanford band, I played bass drum in the 1971 Rose Bowl (Stanford 27, OSU 17). This RUSH tribute was awesome. I take back all the bad things I said about the Buckeye band 50 years ago. Very impressive.

Dear OSU Marching Band, I sat here smiling and even shed a tear or two. Growing up in Canada I was lucky enough to have RUSH play my high school dance just before the release of their first album and I've been a fan ever since. Those whom participated should be proud and will always be able to say...”I was part of that.” As a Canadian that saw RUSH in the Stampede Corral Arena in the 70’s and was one of my first concerts, I think the band would be honoured with this tribute.
