This is a unique performance of a true rarity from Ziehrer's collection of waltzes. Maestro Jacek Kasprzyk together with Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra did certainly an invaluable job presenting this composition to the music lovers!

There is no human life without dance, and most importantly without music, indeed. And this comes from a man who according to many accounts - if not obviously - was the most fanatic rival of the musical family/dynasty we know by the name of Strauss...only to become honorary 'KK Hofballmusikdirektor' in 1909, ten years after the death of Johann Strauss II. The piece itself probably tells the whole story of your average 'enchanted evening' at the Hofball (or Hofballplatz at that), with a kaleidoscope of whirling and singing strings (including the particular contrabass sound), the brass section joining in from the second half (after a rather slowed down, 'romantic waltz' bit) and finally the rhythm and melody repeats itself (just like history) in the end. All in this wonderful rendition by the ever-stunning Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, and quite possibly a 'promotional piece' for somebody's first ever Neujahrskonzert. Thanks for the new upload!
