Caterina Valente (vocal) with the Monaco Ball-Orchestra (= Kurt Edelhagen and His Orchestra). Recorded in Cologne, exhibition hall on April 13th 1955.
The song was written by Kurt Feltz (music) and Heinz Gietz (lyrics).
Caterina Valente (born in Paris on January 14th 1931) is an Italian-French multilingual singer, guitarist, dancer and actress who speaks six languages fluently and sings in eleven. She is best known as an European performer, but also spent an important part of her career in the United States, where she performed alongside Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Ella Fitzgerald and many others. With the Porter song "Ganz Paris Träumt Von Der Liebe" (which sold more than 900.000 copies only in 1954) she became a major star in Germany with a lot of Hit songs and also as a brilliant singing and dancing actress in some very successful German Musical Pictures. From here she started her world career. She retired in 2003 and lives in Lugano, Switzerland.
This Polydor record is played on a Philips Radiogram from 1956!
