Thanks so much for posting this. This is a great trick. Never seen biot without having to be tied down with wire which also traps the biot fibers. The superglue trick fixes that. Great! I noticed to that when the biot slipped it didn't unravel all the way like normal. Thanks Vladimir.
@Oholisfliesandfishing4 жыл бұрын
It can be tied with wire not trapping fibers.... Just the wire has to go between them.... Which is easier than it may seem. But superglue is neat and pretty durable solution. Just use waterproof superglue 😉

I always come back to this when I need a refresher, biot bodies look so great I just don't tie them enough. I always forget which way to tie them in.
@Oholisfliesandfishing2 жыл бұрын
glad to hear that. I admit i dont know by heart how to tie it in. I visualise what would happen with biot tied either way. That helps me a lot. Hope it will help you. Just find logic behind it so you dont need to remember. :)

Thanks for posting this tip Vladimir! I like the effect of a biot body but found it to be a bit of a bother to wrap - trimming of the excessive width is an excellent solution! Good tip on using Gel Super Glue as well! Tying up some Intruders for bass at the moment but I will tie a couple of these for Fall-Fish when I am done. Cheers! Hank

Thank you Hank. Glad u found it useful. Give it a try. I love this especially for small dries where i need whole body covered with biot, very practical solution. 😀

Just curious would this trick work the other way meaning if I didn’t want the exposed rib to show by leaving the translucent side and cutting off the ridge portion for a smooth body great tip I’ll have to give it a go
@Oholisfliesandfishing Жыл бұрын
Thanks... Regarding your question, i didnt try it the other way. But, i wouldnt bother. It would make just plain, smooth single colour body. That can be achieved with micro floss+UV much easier. But, its all up to personal preference, so why not try it.... It will catch fish for sure. 🍺😀

@@jamessumsion1177 i didnt know its UK style thanks for that note... Yes, when i tie i have trout and grayling in my mind. But since i live in China now i tie some flies with other fish in mind too 😃😃

Nice to see you mixing up your dubbing off the skin. Most people on KZbin get their dubbing out of little packets, if I had to do that I think I'd just just pack it in.
@Oholisfliesandfishing3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, i do use bags, dispensers.... But, almost never as they arrive... Always add some spice inside 🍻
