Stephanie, life is just beginning at our age (I am 39). You are not too old to be who you want to be. I find that I've spent my 30s really deprogramming from society's brainwashing and really learning my value and honoring my dreams and potential. Trust me, I relate to you in so many ways- but please do not write yourself off so soon. If anything, you're in a better spot to make the most of your life with the healing and knowledge you've gained to this point. It’s strange how this was how life felt like for me in my early 20s. It seemed like everyone was vacationing, progressing, having kids, buying homes, getting married, and becoming successful so early in life and I was so stagnant. I remember when one of my classmates got signed to the nfl, I was so hurt because I felt like a complete loser. I was in college getting my degree in Accounting doing odd modeling gigs and still felt like a whole loser. I just wanted to become a R&B singer but, I never had the support. As I am approaching the docile age of 38 in November I’ve grown to learn that success means different things for different people. But there seems to be a certain level of Self Awareness that hits different in your 30s and most people who you find “successful” are often struggling with the same outlook of not feeling fulfilled with what their life has produced as of currently. Like you said though everyone’s 30’s are different but this indeed is the time of self-awareness for adults. Thank you for your videos 🙏

Awesome video and super cool skit. I'm a guy in my 30s and totally understand and agree but please dont count yourself out yet. I'm in the same boat. I dont know if you knew but I'll tell a few celebrities who made late ig rick ross popped off in this mid 30s, steven Carroll from the office in his early 40s with a wife, kid, and mortgage, nicki minaj was in her 30s when she finally popped off, Stephen king same as steve Carroll. If you close your eyes and still see Broadway like I see singing please take the steps, social media is your friend. Keep up those skits and post them on ig or KZbin. I pray God will open the doors and bless you and your cousin both. Keep up the great work.

And lastly please dont think what did I do wrong or I wasted so much time. Maybe God said you were not ready. Take the small steps.

No Nicki Minaj was in her 20s when she popped off😅 She’s been successful over more than 12 years. But she did get married and had her first child after the age of 35>. So your argument still stands!

@@Amber_Aviva I never thought and still don’t think that I bragged on social media but I have removed myself because what I realized was that the parts of my life I presented represented like 10% of my life and I hated that idea. I hated that people could go to my IG and see all these great photos and compare their life to mine when the 90% I’m not sharing is all the boring, mundane, normal, ugly stuff. Easily put, I didn’t enjoy contributing to the toxic side of social media by creating a false self image.

The skit was excellent. We want more. It’s so true. He same thing happened to me. All my friends were very successful while I made little money. They all got married and had a fun life. I did eventually get everything right at 30 when I left Canada and moved to my happy place in Jamaica. So keep doing what ur doing. I promise you, you will get yours. And the more struggle, the better the result. I love ur channel. Thanks for making these videos.

Many black women do not hit their stride professionally until their 30’s-40’s. You can use your platform to launch whatever dream you have. I moved to nyc to be a writer and ended up being a teacher and school leader but plan to slowly continue my writing. It’s a dream that sticks in my head that is apart of me but God puts stuff in place at the right time.

Love this video. I'm 29 and have been really struggling with that Facebook FOMO for the last...geez, 7 years? (People start families early where I'm from.) Then I remember I almost got married and went that direction and chose not to for a reason. That wasn't the life I wanted when I hadn't even had my own life yet. And tbh it's still not. I may feel fomo, but there's not one person on my timeline I'd actually trade with. They're all married to walking mayonnaise sandwiches (sorry but it's the truth) with good but stressful jobs and cute but demanding kids. I know it sounds like sour grapes but I easily could have this life if I wanted it... I just... don't, deep in my heart. On the surface it looks like I've accomplished very little and it's true, but I'M FREE. And it would take a lot more than "this is what we're supposed to do right?" for me to give that up.

Although I'm just 14, this reminds me so much of how I'm wasting my time. What I'm doing now will affect the things that happen to me later in life and I know I wouldn't stand the dissatisfaction of not having done anything major. I'm one of the "gifted" children and I think I will meet the same fate of my peers. Wasted potential.
@kannot13 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right!!! Many young people are wasting their youth on social media💔 write novels, fall in love and get rich, work on your long term dreams! Invest in your future now or else you'll regret it like this lady (sadly) all the best💕
@SynterraSteen3 жыл бұрын
Hey there, I have a little story for ya. I was a “gifted kid” like I even had to change schools to continue my education at 8 years old. I went to traditional middle and high school to get the “experience” and I was 100% caught in the “gifted kid, wasted experience” cycle. I was so lost. And of course depressed. Fast forward a few years (I’m 23) and I finally got back in touch with my inner self and I’m on the road to achieving my dreams. Never stop learning. Follow what you want to do ALWAYS!!! Go after your dreams like your life depends on it. Start now and never look back. You got this. Love from a stranger ✨🖤

I don’t even want to tell you my story because it will seem discouraging. But I’m just gonna say same boat and I followed the “nerd” path. Did all the stuff I was supposed to do and made all the grades I was supposed to make and I’m gonna say I’m no better off than anybody else I went to school with and just leave it at that. Good things can happen, but that “gifted” thing stops mattering after school basically.

Absolutely. Love this. 37 and I’m a secretary with two teen boys. I’ve been banging the idea of going to nursing school.I put it off for years and have no friends and renting my home. School would be free for me but my kids baseball wrestling football and stuff would have to stop for one year. I’d love to pay my rent up with my next tax return and just do it. My parents seem depressed and want more for me. I have these regrets. Never told anyone till I saw this

I don't even know where to start. You literally took every thought I've ever had in my head and made sense of it. Especially that part of being happy for someone after the fact. I've always felt bad not being happy for friends the exact moment they share their good news. But it's hard, it's truly hard, to always be joyous in the moment when it appears the someone is living your dream!! And I definitely re-listened to the "whole to parts v. parts to whole" section. Excellent video!

Yes 30's I'm like - if I don't do what I'm interested or would like to try then I'm never going to. Tomorrow is no guarantee. I don't mean career wise as I still don't know. All I want is to live in peace and have fun. Yes having finances is unfortunately necessary so you can have food, shelter, safety, etc. But no need for fancy items. Trying new things is great, or learning something new. Good luck to us in our 30's! 😀

Maybe your cousin is ahead with Broadway, but you could definitely be an actress. You are funny, creative and smart. You could get an agent, and do TV and film roles. So much of what you talk about resonates and is relatable for so many. But honestly, everyone's trajectory is different, and not always linear, but ... you can still get your thing. I'm umm ... in my 40s and doing what I thought was out of reach in my 20s and 30s. And .. you start seeing divorce happening, from those 20something marriages. ;) Just saying ... You never know what can happen. You will add up to your whole, and create it for you, not the checkboxes society tells us to check off. You will do it!!

I turned 31 this year and honestly LOVE it, I feel like my twenties were filled with so much anexity and stress of not knowing who I am and where I am heading, turning 30 I no longer care about other people’s opnions, I live doing what I love regardless if what people think it is “cool” or worthy . it is very important tho to keep a good circle of friends because now 10 years later we all seperated to different countries but we still value our friendship and wish we can all live together or at least in one city. if there is any advice I can give to anyone in thier twenties is to hang on to the good friends you make in school/collece/work. it is soooo wasy to drift apart and not talk and then suddenly it it too wierd to talk again.
