I'm a Dodger fan and I'm excite but I really think too much is being made out of this. One player doesn't equate to much in baseball, He'll help for sure but the whole is equal to the sum of it's parts. If the Dodgers can't keep a good rotation on the mound or the bullpen all of sudden goes into suck mode or Mookie and Freddie continue to disappear in the post this won't mean anything.

Dodgers and Yankees what else is new. MLB needs to change its entire system so big market teams don't end up with everyone. It not good for the sport or the other teams. MLB needs more punitive measures for contracts like this regardless if the money is deferred or not. I think they one need to limit deferrals to 25% of the total contract. MLB needs to do more and be more in line with the way NFL does things.

Well the owner and friedman are the ones who went after Ohtani for years 😂 , Ohtani is just paying the loyalty back 😅 . He is a very traditional japanese man . I'm scared for the manager tho he can't keep his mouth shut 😅

It's an option for Ohtani. It doesn't mean he will leave if Friedman does something or doesn't do something. I think he just trusts Friedman. But if he does something detrimental to the team that affects Ohtani's chances of winning, I don't think he will take that option.

It's also in Shohei's contract that the Dodgers are obligated to surround him with a competitive team for 10yrs. They won't allow Friedman to mess up.😅
