It's not like Shohei goes out to Japanese town and go grocery shopping or even have a meal inside a restaurant. Could you imagine the chaos that would cause? On top of that, Japanese and Asian foods are ubiquitous in every major city. The whole idea that it's very important to Shohei to live near a Japanese community is unfounded. I think the warm and sunny weather in Southern California plays a larger role in his decision to play here, because he can perform easier and better. Most importantly, playing for the Dodgers gives him the best chance of playing in the playoffs every year.

It's hard to imagine any other team being a better fit for Shohei than the Dodgers. It's also hard to imagine signing Yamamoto and Hader, too, but I could get used to it! Go Dodgers!

Some Japanese baseball players in MLB are still living in and out in USA. Because they have wanted to stay out of 'fame tax” as long as they are back in Japan. I hear that Ohtani requested that the Dodgers organaztion provide him the most rock solid security. The town talk about him is when he will get married and who will be his wife.

😂😂Me too! She is that reporter from AP that everybody thought was quite rude, when she almost cross examined Shohei tone, asked if he had deliberately kept things in mystery to drive up his monetary value…sure, she was disgruntled as Ohtani didn’t made himself available to the media while making his FA decision.. But seeing her towards the end in this video, made it clear, she may not have the most smoothest social skills…😅
