I’m not a dodgers fan but I think they should run a regular 5-man rotation with Ohtani limited to 5-6 innings. That way he could get around 30 starts in, maybe 150-180 innings without as much stress on each individual outing.

This is rehabilitation pitching practice for his return as a two-way player next year, not practice for pitching during the current season. He's Japanese, so it's just a long-range plan to prepare for next year, starting the year before. He's not throwing in games this season, so he's just doing regular warmups so his body doesn't forget the pitching. If he's serious about pitching in the postseason, he'll be doing a different routine with more test throws of different types of pitches. Perhaps this is just a warm-up pitch to get used to his shoulder.

Id really like to see Ohtani pitching again, but I think he should quit doing that, the pitching will shorten his career, two surgeries and counting, the split finger is going to destroy his arm and if he doesn’t throw it, he is going to be beaten up.

This is prob part of the rehab process. Hence how he’s eating like 2-3 mins in between each pitch. But I agree his bat is way more important than his pitching for this year! Dodgers need to protect ohtani from himself like all starts need.

It's not rare actually. I'm a rightier in general, I can bat on both sides but only throw with my right. I play hockey as a lefty. Let say my right is the dominant strong one, but the left is generally more agile

They don't really. Shohei used to use Asics gloves prior to his mega deal with NB. Asics wasn't as popular in the US but it was pretty big in Japan. Shohei's custom NB glove is the product of a deal between Wilson and NB to produce A2K's customized to Shohei with NB markings.
