Possible money saving tip I wish I had thought of before buying the Ohuhu brush set... Purchase the Ohuhu bullet set and change out the chisel end with a brush tip. I've seen other people do this you just have to pay attention to the length of the tip so that it touches the inside part that holds ink.

This is crazy, I almost bought a set of masters touch markers at hobby lobby for $76, but it was only about 26 markers. I’m so glad I decided not to buy them at the register (they said they were on sale for 40% but weren’t) I feel like finding out about these markers saved me, plus I am going to get way more color options, especially the pink which I wanted more of. The makers touch was $30 for a set of 3 pinks/3 purples... and not to mention how the Copic one would’ve cost 54 just for 6 markers of random colors :( I’m so happy to have decided to wait and then found out about ohuhu. So excited to order them and get started with marker art!

I wouldn't risk ruining the marker. I do alcohol ink art and percentage of alcohol matters. If the marker is already ruined and you want to try use at least 91% alcohol if not 99%. Do not use anything under 91%. Personally if I really liked the color I would buy a refill ink in the closest match possible. I don't see why you couldn't refill them just like copics.

There is no open stock but like the other reply said you could refill with a similar shade. You can add denatured alcohol and make a lighter marker too.

You can get them on bombingscience.com or Ebay, as far as I've seen.

these are the classic bullet and chisel and they don't wear down, the Ohuhu brush markers are a fiber/felt tip style (not as durable and flexible as Copic) but they are reversible so it it starts to wear out you can pull it out and insert it backwards for a while new brush nib.

Question. I want to buy the 100 marker bullet/chisel set to go with my 48 marker brush set. Do you know if these markers are going to stay the old style oval markers or will O’huhu have a newer style round marker but with a bullet nib? Or is the 100 set made up of old oval markers that will dry up faster? I don’t mind the older colors, that way I won’t have any duplicate colors with my brush nib set. I just don’t want an old product. Love your channel even though I couldn’t draw my way out of a paper bag.

I think the classic ohuhu will stay oval. I like them so much better than the first style that was rectangle like the touch new as occasionally tou would get a dry one. Unfortunately they are not on the same color number system as the brush tip version but they work well together.

thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I actually slowly built up a collection of illustrator markers. It took a long time, and after very little use the tips began falling apart. Soon after I saw your video explaining that Crafters Companion began to replace the illustrators with improved brush nibs. I contacted the company but they offered nothing to compensate. I was very upset because it took me a very long time to save up for them and collect individual sets. They are selling the “improved” markers for the exact same price. I thought Crafters Companion was a quality company, which is one of the reasons I decided to make the investment, but their response was infuriating. They invited me to go out and buy the new markers....no accountability for putting out poor quality! Or I could buy replacement nibs at my own expense (when they come out). Finally they suggested that I continue to “enjoy” my markers as is. I will never buy anything from them again. Sorry for the rant. Thanks for all you do.
@thefrugalcrafter4 жыл бұрын
@@emptynestscrapper961 I would be livid! Their new illustrator markers have nice foam rubber tips but I did not try the first ones because that company likes to test products in the field and then come out with a revamped version after they get feedback. I bought the original gen 1 markers and they dried out so fast I had to add alcohol to them. Others had that issue so they improved the markers. Dame with the pencils. It is a very odd way to do business. It's funny that new small companies like ohuhu and arteza replace anything that is off with a products and the big companies wont. I am so sorry that happened to you. I wonder if the blick studio nibs would fit, they are copic quality but way cheaper.

Does a colour chart with name and number come with these? If not email Ohuhu and ask for the " Ohuhu 200- color Marker Set- Color Swatch" chart." There are four pages with name and number. Regardless of size of set you should do this. Ohuhu has no chart whatsoever on their site to download. All other art sites I go to have such charts for download and to provide service to their customer. reqarding their products. It took me several emails to finally get what I wanted then I thanked them. They said they would pass the idea of having it available for customers to the higher up. I have a 60 set and the colour chart I got only had numbers no names. People can manage names but numbers are a problem. Even the 200 Colour Chart I saw on the internet only comes with numbers. So many colours look the same one can think they are duplicates with different numbers. Does Ohuhu want people thinking this?

@@thefrugalcrafter The problem wasn't swatching. The ones I have are already swatched but I wanted NAMES. Ohohu could improve their product by putting NAMES on each markers. If not at least make the names available on a chart, they do not have on their site for download, or included with each set. Another thing they could do to improve service. Frankly this is a no brainer!
