The nozzle holder and swirl plate was coked, replaced nozzle with different spray angle, replace dirt coverred nozzle holder wihout spraying in clean solvent to remove dirt deposits. Increased oil pressure. Not even look inside boiler to remove scale and soot on the walls and floor. No smoke test, CO2 and exhaust temperature meassurements with analyser.

would have a shot at another 3 years with a Riello on that S.O.B just saying . My Riello was completely submerged in water for over 4 hours . let it dry for two days that dirty Italian burner fired right up . The motor had a little scream to it but she made a flame . Changed the nozzle ONLY it ran for another 3 months until I got sick of the noise from the motor . I did eventually change primary and solenoid as well just because it got cold and I'm too busy working on others people crap .

Love updates. Thx. I have gas heat for house, oil for garage. I keep garage 72-78 while in there. Our last episode of bad weather, used bio-diesel. Heater had trouble starting clean, and used more fuel with less heat. Once I got some clean diesel, I keep having to turn the heater off as it gets too warm. The bio is painfully nasty from my two season experience. Thank goodness I didn’t have to tear the unit apart and clean. I will at end of season for due diligence.

Thats the burner it ships with. I prefer the Riello, but I'm this case I don't think the Viessman is much different or higher end than most other 87% 3 pass oil boilers.
