Thank you very much for this information. I changed oil in our 2019 Cherokee and I could not find anywhere in the owners manual to press the accelerator 3 times to reset the oil life. The directions on the dash will not reset mine, but your advice on pressing the accelator with the motor off, ignition in the run position worked! Thanks again!

I'm back 1 year later doing the oil on my nieces car and reviewing your video. Called her dad and he said I was the last oil change. Argh! Crawling under the hood tomorrow.

Thanks it helped. Something I noticed on the different models. My wife has a 2015 Cherokee Trailhawk edition with a 4 banger and it takes 0W20 Full synthetic. When her oil indicator goes from good to bad it also reads miles since last oil change. On my niece's 2016 Cherokee Latitude with a 6 banger it takes 5W20 standard oil and I upgraded it to full synthetic to extend the oil change interval. When I reset her oil change indicator I noticed it didn't have the miles since last oil change indicator and I was not able to extend the oil change interval on her vehicle. So it will read change oil at 3,000 miles. I haven't found anyway to increase the interval on the computer to mirror a 6,000 mile interval. Ant help would be great.

I’ve never run into that before. I’d call the dealer and ask about options. Most of the systems Today measure the oil changed based on some sort of drive performance mapping or algorithm versus just a fixed distance via miles. I’m surprised that your nieces jeep has just a fixed number. I’ve never heard of that. What I will tell you is that if you’re using full synthetic you can go a full 10,000 miles with no worries. I’ve done it on all my cars and I drove by them to 300,000 to 400,000 miles. Everyone I’ve sold afterwards had a good engine in it. Everything else is falling apart but the engine was good

@@jimgaskell1833 I don't know if her Jeep has a fixed number she was changing the oil every 3,000 with conventional oil at the dealership. At least that's what her receipts show. I organized all her receipts put them in file and wrote on the cover my oil change date and mileage. I'll see where we are at 3,000 miles. I just thought it odd the my wife's car has mileage since last oil change on the screen and my niece's car didn't. It makes sense to me to have it. Thanks for your response.
