This is how I do my XF 2.2 LE Sport. Much easier than removing the underbody panel and getting at the sump plug. The extraction pipe goes right to the bottom of the sump into a small egg cup size like concave. That means you get almost all the oil out bar say half an egg cup. Its designed to be extracted like this.

Hi, its a shame you didn't include the torque settings for the oil filter housing. But it was great to watch. Also why do you say at 4:49 mins....:and add an extra 500ml of oil " ?
@CGITutorials2 жыл бұрын
Torque setting for tightening the oil filter housing on Ford/Jag is 25Nm. (Sump plug is 34Nm though). The car needs 5.5L of oil, annoyingly they usually come in 5L so had to measure out an extra 0.5L from another bottle that is kept around for top-ups if needed.

Great Video but can I ask you why you say at 4:50 mins....:and add an extra 500ml of oil " ??
@rscservice65732 жыл бұрын
It takes 5 and a half litres - So after pouring in the whole contents of a 5L bottle of oil then add an extra 500ml (0.5 litre).

Thanks. This video was really helpful for me. I’ve just done mine this morning and it was pretty straightforward. 👍🏻 If you overfill does the in car display show that on the oil level screen or does it just max out at “level ok”?

Great video! Roughly how long do you normally pump for to complete the extraction? I'm getting hardly any out on a warm engine after about 15mins.. Thanks

If you rotate your oil can horizontally it will pour much smoother without splashing.

I have the 3.0d S engine and just got my cam and aux belt changed at 90k. I’d personally wouldn’t leave it any longer than 100k miles.

What on God's green Earth? Talk about a Mickey Mouse bodge job. Get the job done RIGHT by a TRUSTED mechanic. It's cheaper than a new engine or scrapping the car.

Hahaha what are you talking about? This is exactly what the garages do. Doing it yourself will save you lots of money in Labour for a very simple procedure.

@@grahamevans9606 What about flushing the old oil out and replacing the filter?
@grahamevans96062 жыл бұрын
@@davidwatts1871 you replace the oil filter after you have extracted the oil? As long as the engine is warm, you'll get all the oil out baring about 100ml. I do mine every 10k...and have been doing this on other cars via the dipstick. Never had any problems.
