Oil Changes, Changed | Fumoto® SX Series Valve

I finally installed my Fumoto F108N valve on my 2021 Subaru Crosstrek 2.5L engine.Install was easy with a crowsfoot wrench adapter.

It looks like, after removing the factory drain plug, the Futomo unit is installed onto the factory drain plug gasket (which was stuck on the oil pan). Is this recommended as the Futomo unit already comes equipped with an “o-ring”?

Old comment, but NO. Remove the old washer/gasket. The valve comes with two integrated o-rings. See their website for more details. Hopefully this helps someone.
