Thank you again for the info, especially for the smoke during dpf regen. Mine 1.3 does smoke a lot during regen. Had a leak on the injectors. Fixed it but they are going to be remanufactured next week because they seem to be damaged. They produced a loud ticking noise but it went away after a while, and a high fuel consumption. Also there is a small oil leak on my intercooler which could suggest a problem with the turbo and is really unfortunate.
@5Dale658 ай бұрын
It doesn't have to be a bad turbo. But if oil leaks out there it means your intercooler has a hole and the air also leaks out of there. Therefore the mass air flow sensor has a higher reading, it dumps more fuel than it should, creates soot and clogs your dpf faster. You must get rid of all the air leaks in the intake between turbo and manifold. Otherwise you could possibly still have a problem with your dpf and smoking, even after installing new or reman injectors.

@@5Dale65 Thank you for the in-depth explanation. I will suggest this to my mechanic. I'll have the injectors tested at least to be sure though. Thank you again, I very much appreciate the help. 👍Shame I live far away from Portugal so I can't do this at Bruno's shop 😆

Just to close this story out. Returned from the mechanic. The injectors are not for repairing, and are functioning ok. Turbo is ok. But the intercooler had a hole in it, and it was replaced and the system cleaned. In the end very fortunate

I have some questions which others in the comment section might find useful if you don't mind answering please. 1. Should you not drain the oil straight away before running the engine? 2. Why use 5/40 oil not the recommend 5w/30? 3. Do you recommend to keep using 5w/40 permanently? Thanks in advance

If you run the engine with the brake fluid in the oil it will act like an engine flush itself. Just don't drive it and will be fine.

@5Dale658 ай бұрын
I tried it on a 1.9 jtd 8v 115hp and believe me it's very very hard to do, even with your intake manifold off. To completely clean the intake system with the passages in the head and intake valves as well, you have to take your head off the engine unfortunately. You can spray some fluids into the intake with the engine running, but then all the stuff it looses in the intake will go into the combustion chamber and that might not be good for your engine.
